Amazing New In-Game B.C. Screenshots

Now, I think people saying 'these screenshots are amazing' is rather overused. That's why I stay away from it a lot. But these new B.C. screenshots are simply amazing. There is no question. Remember, these are all in-game. Have a look:

In the April issue of Official Xbox Magazine, they had a very nice interview with Matt Chilton from Intrepid Games (makers of B.C. who are also connected to Big Blue Box, who is making Fable, and Lionhead Studios, Black & White). Here are just some of the highlights:

"Every object in the game is flammable if it gets hot enough, and if you're not careful, you'll have a full-scale forest fire on your hands. Most of the creatures in the game are terrified of fire and will do anything to stay out of its path, so if you're clever, you can use fire to start your own controlled migration - just make sure your tribe doesn't get trampled on the way!"

When asked about support for Xbox Live, Matt said, "Under consideration for the future."

All I have to say is, this is going to be one awesome game.

Well, the screens do look amazing, and Bond was trying to explain this game to me on AIM, but I still don't get the whole concept so can someone explain, while I guess I can wait for GameKing's explantion...

That looks amazing. The visuals are great.. It looks like fun

Yeah, some of these screenshots have been around for awhile. I'm trying to find some new ones right now.

To ease some of the confusion about the game, here is what it is about told by the creators:

"At the dawn of time the very survival of the human race hangs in the balance. Cowering in caves and running from predators, your species faces the ultimate threat - extinction at the hands of a vicious, rival race of ape-men. If humanity is to have a future, your tribe needs to evolve into a thinking, resourceful unit with a strong leader. That leader is you.

BC is an original 3rd person action/adventure game that hurtles you millions of years into prehistory, to the beginnings of mankind. Here you must lead the struggle for dominance among the first men. You will personally guide your evolving, learning and changing clan on an epic journey of survival.

Battle against ferocious, prehistoric creatures alone, or train select tribe members to join the fray. Explore and exploit the vast natural environments and discover new technology and knowledge… Remember, you are at war with other intelligent beings intent on wiping out the human race for good. Have you got the skills and instinct to evolve your tribe of from rabble into a clever, lethal, dominant team?

With over a hundred unique technologies at your disposal, an array of brutal weapons, and a fully simulated food chain, BC is an action-packed revolution in console action/adventure games.

Each of your tribe members is a unique individual, growing and changing in personality as they face dangers, experience triumphs and failures, and learn new skills. It all takes place in a massive world where every item can be picked up, researched, or used as a weapon; where every creature is not just an enemy but also an individual with it’s own needs, prejudices, and goals.

BC is set in a violent, brutal time. Conflict and death is everywhere. Dangerously hot desert days turn to sub-zero nights populated by stalking raptors hungry for flesh. Every waterfall, snowy crevasse and darkened cave hides a new discovery critical to survival. Every berry, fruit or flower can be food to one creature and poison to another.

Can you lead mankind through an ancient war? Can you teach them to survive and to develop their skills and intelligence to destroy their cunning ape-descended rivals?

As history begins, can your tribe rule the Earth?"

no, but there is something wrong with you not liking the plot because you're blantantly biased

gameKing, you didn't even know what the plot was when you said you didn't like it. If you want people to respect your opinions, try and make sure they're eduacated.

Why must his "butt-flap" be so damn long?!;):errr: *walks away wondering why people are leering me*

Bond 03-09-2003 02:25 PM

Alright, I found those new screenshots I was looking for:

Some people at other forums thought the above screenshots were rendered, but here is what the lead designer of B.C. had to say:

"I took those screenshots, and they are all in-game. They look rendered because we are using some of the per-pixel effects that only a few other devs are using (id and Bungie for example). These are effects commonly used in renders. "
