Awsome, that was very well deserved!
It got 3 awards overall. This must be the first time that a rookie studio has won the GOTY award? |
Actually, the GOTY that most people refer to is AIAS awards, which MP didnt win, and even got raped in, IMO. These are the GDC awards which are still excelent just not what many would consider the big show. Though the award is voted on in the same manner, and there is no rule to say which is more important.
So if an BF1942 fans come screaming in your face about GOTY, you can say "so is metroid". ;) |

Oh, and Battlefield 1942 owns you |
actually at IGN said these are the Oscars of the gaming industry  go read it.. its on the front page at cube.ign.com and its not insider

I never agree with the "Movie of the year" or "Album of the year" at the oscars or grammies, and it looks like this little award thing is no different... :sneaky: |

It wasn't as new and innovative as Metroid, but I've had more hours of fun with GTA:VC than with Metroid... *shrugs* and while metroid was good and worth the time (I think I beat it twice on normal and once on hard), I don't see how it should get GOTY... *shrugs* *shrugs* *shrugs*

Suikoden III. Animal Crossing. And I agree with DH... MP is good, but not GOTY type good. |
Hmmmm, for me, the only thing that came close to MP last year was ED. Though I have yet to play AC.

Though they are all very different games, I definately prefered ED over REmake, SH2 and RE0. |
