I always have liked Rick.

That was an excellent editorial. That has basically contradicted many things that people say about Nintendo on these forums. And I've been saying all along "profit".

It makes total sense there.

It's good editorial but I think a lot of people already know what its saying. People who tell how they would run things aren't necessarily being serious or putting down the real people, sometimes they're just having a little fun and being imaginative.

I've yet to see any. People have some kind of emotional attachment to these companies, and if they do poorly, it hurts their self-esteem.

profit shmofit.. if they dont please fans now they wont have any fnas in the future to make profit off ;).. thats my take on it :p...
*waits to get flamed*

^^^

Similarly, if they can't make any profit, they may not be around in the future to please any fans.

I wouldn't say it's an issue with self-esteem. With Nintendo, I realize many people are so concerned with how they perform because they wouldn't like a future where Nintendo doesn't exists. They manage to generate profit now, but if they continue to lose ground, there will come a time where it's impossible to pull in enough profit to stay afloat.

Also, with the strong comments from them recently stating that the day they leave the hardware industry, is the day they leave the gaming industry... that totally rules out a third-party option. So, I think people have good reason to be "emotionaly attached."
