I got MGS2...
 

I'm glad I didn't even come near it until now... this is the best $20 game I have ever purchased in my life! I was expecting it to be more like MGS for Psx (which was more fustrating for me, well, the begining was ;))... I haven't really got anywhere in the game yet, but I have been creeping around testing the AI and messing with the environments.

I just got past the first battle with the girl... I only got about an hour on the game. I'm still not completley used to the controll scheme. I have two questions:

1) Is it possible to steal things from guards like guns and stuff, if so, how?

2) is there any way to murder sombody in hand-to hand combat?

I looked all through the guide, yet to find anything on either subject.

1) No, the only thing is when they are down, if you lift them and release them, they might drop items like ration and ammos.

2) You can kill them by breaking their neck.

How do you do that? I know how to sneak up behind them and grab them but they always break free then spot me :-/

keep tapping the button that's used to grab them until you hear the snap ;)

I love to break their necks, it feels like it's for real :D

You can put a gun to the back of their head and they'll shake
loose their dogtags and sometimes an extra ration. It works if
you aim at their crotch too.

Couldn't wait for the MGS2: Substance out in March eh!

just surprise them with a gun, may have to shoot a warning shot to be more serious in getting dog tags and items from them.

Use thermal to see if they have a dog tag, and the camera tells you if you have collected from him already or not.( I think, been awhile)


Try carrying the knocked out guards in diffrent ways and look in first person and such...funny.

I got over 95% of the dog tags before getting tired of game way back.
