Newer PS2's can burn CD's?!
I read the Letter's to the Editor section in the newest EGM (Driver 3 on cover) and one of them was someone who bought the newest PS2 and was wondering why his games looked smoother. EGM said a Sony Hardware contact said that is has an upgraded fetzer valve (whatever the hell that is) that upgrades the graphics and allows you to Burn CD's. For anyone who hasn't read it yet, the way to access this CD Burning Menu is to Tap Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. First of all- B, A? Where the hell is B, A?! I'm thinking its X, Circle. But also, why would the newer PS2's need the ability to burn CD's? This feature is really pointless at the time. I can understand in the future that this can be used if Sony ever released the HD, but what use would it be of right now? Can anyone with a PS2 model 330001 and up test this to see if there is such an option/menu? I would think Microsoft would rather be the first one to allow you to burn CD's from a console.

I boubt that this is true, because there would be no way you could burn a full CD at one time... You would like, have to do 8 MB at a time... lol.
|
There is a 94.7% chance that this is untrue. (IMO)
|
Nope. Sorry Stu. I think it is a 96.3% chance.

Oh, and don't bother reading that 'last edited by...' disclaimer at the bottom...it's completely false and terribly misleading. :sneaky: |
LOL

Well, I'm just curious by any chance, is this the April issue of EGM?

It's the March Issue. I checked to make sure after I read that. But the only way the burning would be used is after Sony released the HD here and you could rip songs onto the HD and then burn a "mix" onto a CD-R or CD-RW. Then again, you could back up all your Mem. card files onto a CD-RW and get them from the RW if you wanted to. But how would you?

Well I can safely say that you're all 100% dopes
 :D |
Maybe you rip the soundtracks off your games for a nice CD?

meh no point in trying on my old PS2 ... -_0
writes down info to try sometime in case...heh what can you burn it onto now, the memory card. Unless I'm mistaken I remember reading an old article on how a external Iomega Zip drive can be used to save stuff, i wonder??? |
i can tell you guys that this is 103% true!!!
