Well, Nintendo is suppose to have many announcements today...If they come true.

fingersman 01-07-2003 09:53 AM

Oh ok.........well instead of everyone posting all over the place why not just post any other announcements in this thread??

If other announcements are made of course

Its about time Nintendo learned from Palm and started making handhelds backlit and rechargeable. I got a Gamecube recently for when I was camping out for Eagles playoff tickets (GO BIRDS!!!) and I was very PISSED to find out that it wasn't backlit. Hell, its hard to see when there are normal house lights on it, much less street lights on. I was sitting there like a doofus with a flashlight in the crick of my neck trying to play Fire Pro 2.

I'm pretty sure that there are back lit screens for the Cube on the market...

You have no idea how uncomfortable that looks.

EDIT: Holy mother-@#$3ing monkey Hitler it's real.

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/techrev...game-boy_x.htm

They've got it everywhere. IGN, Gamespot, PGC.. It's real. Even the fact Nintendo's forcing us to purchase additionally a headphone jack so we can plug in headphones...eh. All I can say is, I was beleiving this for the longest time during the megaton age.

So... HAH! No more megaton! I'm so relieved... :p

and here I was under the illusion that Nintendo was going to announce something that was actually worth my time. WTF! a backlit gba? That's it? Now I have to go out and spend another 150 cdn on a gba. Oh goody.

This IS the megaton? Oookay, what a dissapointment, although I wan't expecting much in the first place. This new GBA does look a bit uncomfortable, but oh well. I'm sure it won't be too bad.

DarkMaster 01-07-2003 03:05 PM

i thought the megaton announcement was suppose to make buying a GCN worth while....

Dyne 01-07-2003 03:08 PM

Goes to show you, we'll never understand the japanese. Though they make good food and consoles, I'll never understand them.

DeathsHand 01-07-2003 03:10 PM

I wasn't expecting a megaton anymore, but if this is supposed to be it, it's not very megatonish :p

Although I like the looks of it more than the normal GBA, because I couldn't stand GBC's screen with the crummy lighting... It sucked so much ass...

Yep...

I don't see why people should be dissapointed with the "megaton"... think of it this way:

There is no megaton and this isn't supposed to be megaton... ;) :sneaky:

bobcat 01-07-2003 04:15 PM

What's Megaton?

I don't know, never did know, never will know. I just want Metroid Prime and Zelda dammit!

Xantar 01-07-2003 06:07 PM

I think Megaton has been proven to be a hoax by now. Even I bought into it (curse you, CBS Marketwatch!).

This GBA SP isn't bad. I just wonder how comfortable it's going to be to play.

Also, Nintendo is releasing it primarily in platinum in the U.S. They seem to like using silver colored square things over here, don't they...

Null 01-07-2003 06:14 PM

looks more comfy then the normal GBA i say.
