This is what I don't like about Microsoft. They are targeting the PS2 crowd. Leave them be!

It's sad that some people would believe this crap. What's worse, is MS doesn't deliver on Xbox Live, and still goes out and brags like it's God's gift to gaming. Give me a break.

I've added my comments in red. Hopefully it will help you think straight again, and not get drawn in to the dark side.

Cuz PC online games would kick the crap out of any of em hands down. ;)

What if I dont want online? Does XBL benefit that need aswell? HUH? Personaly I think Nintendo has a better offline service. :D

Xbox Live has it's advantages, few, but they are there. It's definetly a step in the right direction. However, the way they advertise it is truly annoying. They try to advertise built-in hardware, when the argument is BS. They advertise BB-only, when the argument is BS.

Why don't they advertise the stuff where they are actually taking a step forward? They are writing their ads in the most fanboyish way I've seen in my entire life. No wonder there are so many fanboys out there.

what advantages are they?
the one i see for consoles. is thier exclusive first party games thats PC wont get.

for all else im seeing is Everything a console can do online, a computer can do better.

Much more freedom on a computer when gaming, Cant ping well to servers? hell, just make your own server.

need a buddy list? download an IM program.

want to do voice chat in ANY game? download a voice chat program. and get yourself a mic or headset. Need controllers? use anyone you want, including console controllers.

most games let you use any name you want. few have you register thoes names.

have games that are Pay to play? aka. FFXI or games like EverQuest, Ultima Oline.... And dont want to pay?
if you can find a private server, you can play them for free.

more mods... bigger communty.. ......... i could go on.

obvious to say, im not a major fan of online console gaming. if a game comes a long i want to play online and cant on PC, then i will hook my console up to my network. thats about it.

Oh yeah, that voice thing isn't really necessary........SC and WC3 work just fine without voice interaction. :D

Buddy list is better in Xbox live than it would be on PC, ever. Can always see what your buddy is playing, whether they are on or not, can send invites without leaving the game, and can join right into their game. With PC, you message them, wait for a reply, then try to connect with them. On Xbox Live, every single person is on the same program, and PC can't match it.

Also, everyone who plays has the ability to use voice chat, and most do. On PC, it's an option, but not everyone uses it. Better to talk to all of your team, than half.

Though, PC is better is every other case :)

and actually many pc games of late have had an internal buddy list.

guess its a matter of preference on your buddy list.

i myself dont need everyone to know what im doing every second or where i am.

if someone sends a message... i will answer em if i want. i myself find choice is better then just this or that. and PC online has far more choices.

As for voice chat. i hate it. i dont like it. i have no reason to listen to whinny little ass's my whole game. i can see it enough in text.

part when its used most. is for Clans. and when your in a clan and goto a match. you just set your whole team on the voice chat program of choice and you're all on. and the fact that its seperate from the actual game, it effects the game less. and the game effects it less.
