Look how much the owner had to PAY!

look at this:

vBulletin Order Options

Leased License - $85

A leased license grants you the right to run vBulletin on one web server and one web site for each license purchased for 1 year from date of order. Each license may power one instance of vBulletin on one domain. During the year, you will have unlimited access to the member area, where you can download updated versions of the software. At the end of the year, you must purchase another license in order to continue to run vBulletin.

Owned License - $160

An owned license grants you the right to run on one web server and one web site for each license purchased for an unlimited time. Each license may power one instance of vBulletin on one domain. Included in this package is one year's access to the member area, where you can download updated versions of the software. If you require access to the member area after the year has elapsed, you can renew your access for $30 per year.

For more information about vBulletin licenses, please email sales@vbulletin.com.

By purchasing this software, you agree to adhere to the license agreement.

Installation

First Time - $135

If you are unfamiliar with PHP/MySQL or server configuration, you may choose to pay for professional installation. This option includes one first time installation of vBulletin on your server. Note: Each service ordered covers installation of one license on one server. Our current price for installation is $135 per license.

Installation does not include importation of posts, user information or styles from other forum software.

Upgrade - $135

For $135, one of our technicians will upgrade your vBulletin software to the latest version, provided you hold a valid license. Note: We are only able to upgrade vBulletin forums where the source code has not been edited in any way. This price includes database migration from previous versions of vBulletin.

That is the sheer truth of it. It truly is the best damn forum program out there, and that's why I use it. Not to mention a huge userbase and excellent support staff. When you look at the price at disect it you're really paying your money's worth. :)
