Wrestling Gamers Rejoice!
A group call Wrestling Gamers United is developing a game due to their (and MY) view that there are no quality wrestling games out there anymore for the hard core wrestling gamer. Here is a quick FAQ:

As of now the game is scheduled to be released on PC, but once they find a publisher they want to release it on every console. I can't wait to see how it turns out. www.wrestlinggamersunited.com |
Interesting. But I don't have a plan to purchase/play a wrestling game without a WWE license. Unless this company can make it great enough that THQ/Aki/Whomever will base a few things off of this game. meh

You have never experienced the Fire Pro Wrestling series because it doesn't have "famous" wrestlers in it? You are such an idiot man! Fire Pro is the shizat, way better than any recent games with "superstars" in it.

Uhhh FirePro Wrestling has tons of famous wrestlers in it...
Anyhoo, this is great news, I'll be getting a new computer mainly because of this if it's not a dissapointment. Some of this stuff sounds awesome, like indie wrestlers, the game actually being made with the intention of a good engine first, good ol grapple system, and these guys certainly know what they're talking about in terms of wrestling. All in all, I still think it'll be a dissapointment in the end one way or another. Let's hope not though. |
Way to be optimistic...:D
|
If it comes out for a home console I will give it a run... But I dunno if I will keep it. Unless the game has a way to develop the no-name wrestler's personalitys I can't see myself having much fun with it.
In a WWE game minimal charicter development is needed because I just think about how they are in real life. But this game will need development, TONS of it. (unless it has an outstanding CAW mode) |

I know. I put all that in quotations because they are like north american stars.. and Because I bet he couldn't name one person in Fire Pro. |
Most Fire Pro games had a ton of Western Stars from both the WWF and WCW in them. I know Fire Pro D did for Dreamcast. They just change their names and alter their look a little.
They can do this in Japan because they have much looser trademark and copywrite laws over there. It would never fly in the US. I remember when Mr. Fuji sued THQ because of the Master Fuji character in WCW vs. NWO World Tour. Any moron knows that character was based on Yoshiaki Fujiwara... SHEESH...:D |

The names in FirePro A are hilarious. Bret Hart is Brad Love. Taka Michinoku is Waka Yuchinuko or something, Terry Funk is Kerry Texan. What a great game. PS. And to the Strangler- I have the first 6 ROH's in the mail coming my way any day now. Finally I get to see some Ring of Honour action, can't wait. I haven't heard one bad review on any of the events yet. |
Their Live shows are the best I've ever seen. I have 6 DVD's on backorder. Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe is so stiff and brutal you have to see it to believe it.:D
