The Germanator 10-05-2002 10:37 PM

No, but I did see an unbelievable movie today called "Spirited Away" in english...it came out in Japan last year and transalated this year. Anyway, it's wonderful, I suggest ya'll see it if you can find it.

jeepnut 10-05-2002 11:00 PM

No, haven't seen it. Don't like those types of movies, gives me nightmares.

gekko 10-05-2002 11:47 PM

I want to. But haven't yet :(

BlueFire 10-06-2002 12:27 AM

I saw it. I thought it was pretty good. Liked it better than Manhunter (same movie, came out in 1980's), because it also had Hopkins in it. Not as gory as I would've liked it to be, but I still found it to be good.

Yeah! I saw the trailers for that and it looks for interesting. It's under the name Disney but they must just be the company helping to promote it here in the States. I'll have to go see it. If you'd like to see the cool trailer, click here .

Red Dragon is a f***ing disgrace. It's nowhere near as good as Manhunter, and it has a few variations in the story line.

Oh, and the sound track in Manhunter was bloody awsome, yet for some bloody reason, they've put it out of print.

Oh and Germy, since you're on the subject of good japanese films, have you seen a renowned japanese horror called 'The Ring'?

Happydude 10-06-2002 10:18 AM

i wanna see that movie along with The Tuxedo...my friend is in that movie:)

background though...so you probably won't even notice him:rolleyes:

BlueFire 10-06-2002 12:01 PM

Can anyone tell me what 'The Ring' is about?

Too bad The Tuxedo has Jackie Chan using wirework to enhance his moves. When I heard that, I vowed to never see the movie under any circumstances. Which lame brain decided to make a movie in which Jackie Chan doesn't actually do all the neat flips and things? True, he's getting old, but I'm sure it wasn't his decision to do that.

I heard that Jackie Chan actually sings in that movie. I think that alone is worth the price of admission...or maybe a rental.

Hmm, I've heard of it, but never seen it. I'll look into it though.

Edit: Oh, I just realized that they are making that new movie called "The Ring", but was there also a Japanese version called "Ringu"? Personally, I'd rather see the Japanese one, if it has subtitles that is.
