NHL Predictions

Well we all know that exhibition, is just tryouts, and so on. We can't really tell who'll finish first, but we can make predictions.

Here you can put your final standings, in any sections, and say how you think you're team i'll go, how far.

So on, and on. You get my point.

In the Eastern section, firts division, this is what i think;

Toronto
Boston
Montreal
Ottawa
Buffalo

Montreal have a pretty good team, but you know what happens when they hit Regular season.

Boston on the other hand, have problems, not knowing who'll start in nets, and they have a rockie, who, 90% sure will be their #1 goalie, John Graham.

I'll make my other predictions soon.

Flyers will win it all...:sneaky:

Detroit and Colorado will still be two of the best teams for sure.

The Rangers will be pretty good despite what a lot of hockey fans say...

The Oilers will make it into the play-offs...

...Chicago won't.

Dallas will stop sucking.

Vancouver won't do any better than last year.

Philly will be better than their play-off performance last year would show.

The Pens will be a lot better (if Lemieux plays 75 games like he says, that's HUGE for them).

Calgary won't have such a hot start but probably will end up around the same spot they did last year.

Atlanta will be way better, as will the Might Ducks with Oats/Kariya.

Phoenix will be pretty good, San Jose will be great.

Toronto will start fading, Montreal will make the play-offs, Ottawa will make the play-offs.

Boston won't make the play-offs, the Sabres will suck ass, Columbus will suck, Nashville will suck, Tampa Bay will suck.

Carolina will realize it was a fluke.

I can see Colorado, St. Louis, Dallas, Detroit, San Jose, Phoenix, Edmonton, and Vancouver making the cut on the West, while I'd say Philly, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and Washington will be the 8 Eastern teams in the play-offs, possibly the Pens or Hurricanes in there.

I've been able to successfully predict the winners of the Stanley Cup at the beginning of the season for like five years in a row, this year seems to be a little bit harder, but I'll say Colorado will win the Cup this year once again.

Flyers :( i don't think so, they might have a good chance, but look at them in the playoffs, first round. Even Boston i was upset they were kicked out of first round.

But still everything is possible.

Dragon-Fly 09-26-2002 06:51 PM

Well you've got a point on Boston, better you never know.

And plus Graham can have a better seaseon then Theodore. But the deffense of Boston will still be strong. and i still think the reffs robbed Boston last year in the playoffs.

Toronto will make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, and lose to the Western Conference champions...

Dragon-Fly 09-26-2002 07:27 PM

Toronto's pretty good, but with Belfour, I don't know:confused: he's not playing that good.

*just waves his flag and roots his home team*

:)

Detroit is a really good team, i'll admit, But this year they won't win the stanley cup, they will either, get kicked out in the 2 round, or the final in the west. I'll be suprised if they win the stanley cup or go to the final. I just have that feeling, knowing they won't win the stanley cup.

nWoCHRISnWo 09-27-2002 08:13 PM

Considering that the Leafs only got WORSE this year, I don't see how you could say they'll make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

oh people always say that. :p

i wouldnt be surprised if detroits a stronger team then they were last year. not just saying that cuz they're my team either. with the rookies we had last year getting better (datsyuk, fisher) and some of the new ones we got this year..... Zetterburg. (im amazed with this guy. 20 years old. his number already retired in Sweeden, where he was compared a lot to Peter Forsburg) and this just his rookie year. im watching the preseason game right now and Zetterburg has just scored as i speak 6-1 detroit. I know that means jack cuz dallas like detroit is just playin a bunch of new players and stuff. but still. these new guys are looking strong.

And combine all that with now they have my all time favorite goalie =D i said way back when Cujo went to Toronto from Edmonton. im just waiting and hopeing he'll end up in detroit sometime. and Someone here at this forum said it would never happen. ( i dont remember who)

Anywho. its hard to garentee or say they'll win again. Repeats are hard to do. But they have a good of chance as ever or anyone else.

*waves his flag more*

you look like you need a hug.

The Germanator 09-28-2002 12:20 PM

Eh, I'm always pessimistic about the Flyers with good reason. They always have a strong regular season, yet end up blowing it in the playoffs very quickly...It's quite ridiculous, but I guess there is always some hope at the beginning of the season.

Crono 09-28-2002 01:46 PM

Meh, as long as Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal does good, then I'm happy
