ED Impressions (spoiler free)
 

I've been playing this game for a little bit now. I need to mow the lawn, lunch was sitting in front of me, and I just killed myself. Good time to stop, huh?

This game is freaky. If you were scared by Resident Evil, you will probably **** your pants. The music is just freaky. I'm still getting the chills, honestly. It's... the voices *shakes*

I don't want to say too much, but insanity killed me. I lost my sanity in this one room, left cause I was low on health, and it distracted me enough where I triggered the trap with the giant swinging blades, and walked straight into it. Somehow, the game got me to a point where I was no longer thinking, but just was scared.

Anyway, this game looks really deep. I've barely scratched the surface. I haven't even used magick yet.

I haven't had enough time to play it to give you full impressions, but that'll come soon enough.

Play the game alone, in a dark room, with the volume turned up. This game r0x0rz.

try playing clive barkers undying.....u might like it:D

I've really got to buy this game. RE really wasn't scary..it was like...BOO! :p

Well... Er, these two games are totally different. First and foremost, Clive Barker's Undying is in first person. Even though the game is good, I doubt it will touch Eternal Darkness in terms of fright factor and immersion.

2 and a half hours through the game. Story is very interesting. But it's hard to to put all the pieces together, at least for now, but it feels like it's supposed to be that way.

As for the sanity effects... Denis you're sick! Those things are not even funny. :mad: They ended up killing me a few times, and I even fell for one I knew was in the game.

And that mansion is creepy man. Seriously, I'm scared to walk down the hall. You'll understand soon enough.

Graphics are great, sound is awesome, story is really deep. I think Fran said you need to really put at least 6 hours into this game.

Trust me, you want this game.

HELL YEAH!! I'm SOOO psyched for it!! i haven't been freaked out for a long time and i'm realllly wanting this!!! So ur sayin that when an insanity effect happens, your characters mind thinks its really real and it kills ya? even tho u hadn't even gone thru that door u were gonna? or is it just u were so freaked out u were runnin away and ran into a trap u knew was there but didn't even think bout it? Hehe, i heard a voice chanting a spell on the ED website and i just bout pissed myself right there! I can't wait to be pissed outa my shorts :p! :eek:

RE isn't scary.... like BF said, it's just like things pop out and startle you... that's not scary.... and it didn't even really happen that much in RE :p

I doubt ED will scare me... but I dunno... I don't have that giant HDTV that takes up the whole wall along with a sound system that makes it feel like there's an earthquake going on like gekko has so... :rolleyes:

I got scared when I played RE2 (well only played it for a while). Those things that jump out and scare you are the worst.

Like RE has all that type of stuff, SH is just freaky, I'm sure ED will be different from both, and I'm highly anticipating this title.

If you can hold off, you can just get this. It makes your European(I think that is what you have) 'Cube region free. I wish they would make a U.S. one, unless some other company has.:unsure:

There's so many different sanity effects. I'm trying not to spoil anything in this thread. I've encountered quite a few, some made me laugh, some made me want to kill Denis. Some you barely notice.

Ill agree that RE wasnt all that scary. Silent Hill on the other hand...that was scary. I only played a little of it, but those babies might have been the scariest thing in a videogame ever. You never knew where they would appear, why they were there, you couldnt kill them...they didnt do anything...they were just plain spooky...

Im thinking ED prolly has scary stuff like that...more stuff that messes with your head, makes you think, not like RE stuff, that is just like crap jumping out at you.

Actually, I only got a 27" HDTV. Not worth spending thousands considering they don't even know what the standards for digital broadcasts will be yet. But I am playing in 16:9 and it's sweet.

And if you want to experience ED, you need to play alone, with no light, the sound turned up as loud as you can have it (or wear headphones), and without a guide. It be fun.

As for Ed scaring you, RE didn't scare me. Only that once when the dog jumps through the window in the original game. But ED... ED is another story all together. ED won't scare you? Two words for you: Bath tub. Ok, so I made it two words, so what? :mad:

Didn't scare me, if that's what you're talking about ;) I saw it in a movie... That's just another jump out at you thing... only it does it with sounds only and the screen flashes too, right? That's sorta like the noises in Silent Hill that come from nowhere... only in Silent Hill, they're meant to come from nowhere.... "People are afraid of what they can't see" or whatever the hell that lead developer dude said :p
