What is Soul Calibur 2 being developed on?
Now I know some Nintendo fan peoples have talked about rumors of it being developed on the Triforce arcade board thing... but before that rumor I heard it's being made on PS2 arcade hardware... and then I heard the rumor pop up... and still I hear PS2 hardware... and now I'm reading videogames.com's new preview and it says...
"Graphically, the game is probably sharpest fighter Namco has done on System 246 hardware to date, surpassing even Tekken 4." ... System 246... which is the PS2 hardware arcade board... (I think... Cuz I searced for it on google and came up with specs and it says emotion engine, graphics synthesizer, etc) So what's up with these rumors? Is it like... even though people say it's being developed on System 246, some people think that it's being developed on the Triforce board? I dunno why it matters... I just wanna know, cuz I keep hearing rumors about the triforce board, but then hear various sites and magazines say System 246... then hear people still bring up the rumor, and still hear sites say System 246... heh heh... Oh and videogames.com says it... http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories...0896-2,00.html there... |

I think gekko mentioned it a lil' bit ago... or someone did... in that link in SC2 topic I think.. or something... or maybe I'm just imaging things... anyways... tank you.... |
Ya, someone at IGNcube mentioned something about the possibility of SC2 being developed on the Triforce board, never said it was. I think the problem is people don't understand what is, and what might be.
They said it could be developed on the Triforce board (co-designed by Namco, and Link in the game makes perfect sense), but no one knew anything official on it. |
Well it might be released on two arcade boards... With Link only in the TriForce board.
Does it matter? I don't think there are any arcade boards outside Japan? Well not here anyway, so we're waiting for the GC version. |
USA has tons of arcades. And no, developing a game on 2 different arcade boards would be a waste of money.

 Well perhaps we have arcades here too... but I can't imagine they would have TriForces here...
