This video is kind of poorly done. But yeah. I'm leaving this question open and vague for now. What do you all think?

My buddy showed me this yesterday. I thought it was funny how many girls think guys and girls can be friends despite the fact they know the guys would sleep with them if given the chance. Either every girl is oblivious to what's going on, or they just love stringing guys along because then they can feel like they're always wanted regardless on if they have a boyfriend of not.

I wonder which is more likely. :ohreilly: :lolz:


Personally, I think guys and girls can be friends, totally. But I don't think guys and girls can be just friends. I don't have a single girl friend that I can immediately think of who I didn't do some type of sexual act to or with at some point in the friendship.

I am sure there are many platonic man-woman friendships out there. But those are either in one of 2 states: Pre-sexual tension platonic friendship, or post-sexual tension platonic friendship.

I imagine having a girl friend whom you never sleep with or fool around with is what a plug feels like when it's sitting a foot away from the outlet.

Lol I have a lot of female friends, and this video made me question some of my friendships. My question would be, where do you draw the line, and how much does history matter?

Some example scenarios:
-I have a girl who was my girlfriend, we broke up mutually years ago. She's married now, I went to her wedding. We still talk maybe once a week, and I'm friends with her husband. He knows about our history and is cool with it. Are we "just friends" now? Or does it count as more because we tried before?
-Two of my co workers I had been friends with for years. Both of them are in different relationships, and one admitted to me directly that when she was single she had a crush on me but she was too shy to try and flirt with me, and the other I heard second hand had a crush. I personally am physically attracted to one of them, and not the other. But I would not seriously date either of them since we're co workers, I know their BFs etc. Are we more than friends?
-One chick I used to work with I am actually close friends with now. She's single, claims she's attracted to pretty boys with tatts etc (aka not me hahaha). I find her attractive, but she has 3 kids, 3 different baby dad's, used to be a stripper, is a party girl, and just has way too much drama floating around her. I wouldn't even begin to try to make that a relationship. Are we "just friends" or more?

Those are the ones on the line to me. I do have female friends who I felt nothing for before and who i'm not physically attracted to and would not be stupid enough to f*** even if it was thrown at me. But maybe they feel something for me? I guess anyone could be hiding that.

By my own definition, you can still be friends if you're attracted to one another. I think the difference between being friend and being more then friends actually acting on those feelings, even if it's just a hidden agenda. If neither side is actively trying to pursue a relationship with each other (even if it's just physical) they're just friends in my book.

You're "just friends" now, yeah. But you dated, and I assume you fucked - which is essentially what the underlying message of the video is. "Can men and women be friends without at least one party wanting to have sex with each other given the opportunity (unless sex has already occurred)" and not literally "Can men and women be friends."



You find her attractive, right? So are you saying that if she walked up to you, no strings attached and wanted to fuck, you wouldn't stick it in her? It's not about "turning it into a relationship", it's just about the desire or the act of sex in the friendship.
