Selling some games

I had some free time today, so I decided to start putting some games up some sale to free up some room in my apartment. 99% aren't worth the effort to sell and ship, so hand-picking them right now. Mainly they are all either duplicates (as in I have other versions of the same game), or factory sealed copies I have come to the conclusion if I haven't opened them yet, I never will.

Why do you care? I obviously would like to sell them for way more than they are worth to the highest bidder. However, if they don't sell, and you're interested, you can make me an offer. Or hell, you can always bid.

I'll also be putting more up in the coming months as I get more ambition to take all the pictures and put them up. It's quite a bit of work.

Re: Selling some games

What are the conditions of FFT and SotN?

EDIT: Nevermind I didn't realize those were links because I am dumb.

Uhm if you can't sell Tactics hit me up. I absolutely hate ebay, so I wont be trying there.

It's hard as hell to find a non-greatest hits version. Same with SotN.

Re: Selling some games

SOTN is a greatest hits version, FFT is not. But I'll let you know. They are all on 10 day auctions, and I'm only trying to sell on eBay because I'm hoping to find people who want to pay way more than any of these games are worth. Though, not sure why the color of the label changes the value, it's the same game.

I never sell things on eBay, so it's a bit interesting to watch. Few people are watching the auctions but not bidding, so I assume they are waiting until it's closer to closing. And then there's EarthBound... already at $75. Crazy...

Also, any of you guys ship internationally? Anything special I would need to do? Any way to get delivery confirmation? I have my auctions restricted to domestic shipping because I have no clue about shipping to far away lands, but I got a feeling it might be hard to sell some Japanese and PAL games if I restrict to domestic shipping.

Since Moogle hates ebay...I'm going to be bidding on that copy of FFT. >_> I've wanted it forever.

Re: Selling some games

Well FFT and SOTN sold. In fact, most of them sold. The big winner? Earthbound at $91. Well, almost.

In case any of you ever sell on eBay, hidden deep within the site (not auction) preferences is the option to block bidders who live outside the countries you ship to. Wish I would've known.

The guy who wins the EarthBound auction emails me and says "Oops, I didn't see you don't ship to my country." Shouldn't eBay throw up some huge red text when you bid on those items? So I had to cancel the auction, and give a second chance offer to the second place guy who bid $90. Only now this dude insists on asking all sorts of questions on the item he was more than willing to buy 10 minutes ago! "Do games still save? What's your return policy if the game doesn't save?" Are you serious? The game is 15 years old, if my battery is dead, so are most on the market, and if you care so much, buy the damn game and replace it. What do you want me to do about it? Open the cartridge to replace it and lose the value for real collectors?

So now I'm pissed off, and expecting it to sell for like $20 this time around. Thank you assholes of eBay.

Wasn't it worth shipping to the first guy? Especially if you let him pay shipment...

I was bidding on FFT, I was the one who knocked it up to $25. :)

Could've been, just didn't want to deal with shipping internationally since I'm not sure what's all involved (customs forms and what not). Plus I had the option of giving it to the next guy for $1 less and not needing to worry about any of it, but then that douche backed out.

If I really wanted a copy of Earthbound that bad (which I kind of do), I'd be more in the camp of having the game and if it saves, wahoo it saves. If it doesn't I'd be fine with trying to emulate it like I have in the past.

I may as well sell my copy of Sonic Adventure 2 if I can get 30 bucks for it! I actually have a bunch of old Dreamcast games...I wonder if any more of them are worth anything.

Re: Selling some games

Do you have a DC broadband adapter? Those are selling for $180, I'll be putting mine up soon. I will never play another DC game online, not even sure if it's possible. To be honest, I don't know why anyone would pay more than $5 for the thing, but I don't mind selling it for huge profits :)

I also was a bit surprised by SA2. I honestly only chose to sell that one because I have the GameCube version. I'm also a bit shocked Rez and Ikaruga both sold for more than their XBLA counterparts, which are both improved versions.

Also, if anyone is interested in selling their stuff, I shipped everything USPS first class through eBay directly. You will need a postage scale, but it generally cost me $2 to send a game, and about $4.25 if I added signature confirmation (which I did on anything over $20). I had no idea what to price shipping at when I listed them, so figured it might help someone out. Also anything under 13oz can do directly in the mailbox (games are between 6-9), so I never had to stand in line at the post office.

When it comes to video games, people that want to collect games, especially ones that have been remade for current generations and the like, they like to have the original whenever possible. Used video game reselling is a bullshit economy. I should know, I've spent a lot of money on getting old games from eBay and Half.com.

I mean, I remembered that I didn't have Mega Man Legends 1 or 2 after hearing that the development for the third was cancelled yesterday, and a copy of Mega Man Legends 2 is selling on average for like 60 bucks! 60 bucks! For Mega Man Legends 2! The Misadventures of Tron Bonne probably sells for just as much too. It's honestly pretty ridiculous.

Radiant Silvergun (one of the best games for the Sega Saturn imo) is a Japan import only and it goes for 250 bucks used. That's another game that's getting an enhanced port for Xbox Live Arcade, come on now people! Guardian Heroes is getting ported with full 6 player co-op and everything and you bet your ass the original is 50-60+ on eBay.

Really absurd.
