Thor
Concept art of Thor.
http://www.collider.com/2010/06/02/t...s-concept-art/ I can understand not giving Cap's helmet wings, but no helmet at all for Thor? And the rest of the costume looks like a business suit...or a Vegas magician. Even wearing only a loincloth Thor still rocks the winged helmet: ![]() |
Re: Thor
First image isn't showing up.
I saw it earlier today, though, and didn't much care for it...it looks like it's going to be hard not making it tacky. Also I'm still annoyed that Brad Pitt won't be playing Thor...that would have been awesome. |
Re: Thor
There's no way a Thor movie is not going to be really gay.

Another worry is that Marvel has had trouble creating compelling movie translations for their super-powerful characters, namely The Hulk. I understand Marvel needs someone to stand up to The Hulk (Thor), but the farther movie storytelling gets from relatable human characters, the more it suffers. |
Re: Thor
Wait, it's based on a comic instead of the actual myth? :(

Re: Thor
@Professor S: I disagree, and am currently starting a thread about why I think Captain America will be a pretty hard sell
Also, I would but forward that it would be hard for many people to relate to Tony Stark in the Ironman films but they still did really well |

Then again Hulk is my favorite comic. I think that a Thor movie would be possible to pull off, but not if it follows the same tune that the teaser did after Iron Man 2. I feel like it would be much more successful if they took a hint from American Gods and made the mythology part of it and turned the movie more into an urban fantasy, with a sort of American subculture revolving around it. |
Re: Thor
I gotta agree with Hulk being a very relatable character.

Tony Stark is a human man. Thor is a god or a demi god or some shit. Captain America is also an easier sell because he's a human. Humans are automatically more relatable than whatever retarded mythology Thor comes out of. |

I really don't know enough about the character, but I hope they don't make him a hippie like in the Ultimate universe. |

Re: Thor
Thor was merged with the human Donald Blake which tied him down to humanity (from what little I know about that character). Don't believe they're doing that for the movie though.

Re: Thor
Isn't it interesting this came out around the same time as Starcraft 2, and it had thors in it as well?
I'll be honest, the Starcraft Thor is a much more interesting subject to me :) |
