He was one metal's legends. He will be remembered....and he will rock out for eternity with all the metal Gods.

Bummer.

I remember hearing "Rainbow in the Dark" on the radio for the first time a few years ago. We were all cracking up in the car. I couldn't believe those lyrics were real. It's a funny song.

That's the 80s for ya...:p

All the post-Sabbath stuff, including Iron Maiden, was heavily laden in cheese. The genre still has its fair share of cheese. I have always felt that it is done tongue-in-cheek, although sometimes I'm not so sure myself. :lolz:

It took Slayer/Death/Metallica/Napalm Death to move metal in a more "serious" direction.

Anyway...back to Dio. The man had an epic set of pipes. That much is for sure. And Heaven and Hell was one of Sabbath's best albums, purists aside.

While I've always liked Ozzy more, Dio had some lungs.
