XBLA: Perfect Dark
I would post this in my XBLA/PSN/WiiWare thread, but under the impression most people don't pay attention to that.
Perfect Dark is a enhanced port of the N64 game from Rare. It stars daring heroine Joanna Dark, and technically is the sequel to Xbox 360 launch title Perfect Dark Zero. The game comes out this Wednesday for only 800 MSP or $10 bucks to real people. It adds, online co-op and 8 player deathmatch, and of course, improved textures/graphics. The game will also finally have a framerate!!! So it will be playable with causing me motion sickness from the jerkiness. Comparison of the n64/XBLA version Here are some more stuff Quote:

Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
SO FREAKING EXCITED ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY! i have by far sunken more hours into this game than any other, including MW2, cod:w@w, pokemon red/blue, smash, soulcalibur 2/4... and yeah, you get the idea. Some games I play a LOT. and Perfect Dark is at the top of all those. Real framerate, smoothed out textures, dual analog control, online multiplayer... i have been asking for this since I first played Perfect Dark Zero and realized that it did not hold a candle to this original. I may even be staying up until 2am PDT to snag the second it hits XBLM :D

I mean will you even have much time to play it once it finishes downloading? :lolz: :lolz: |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
This is a very big reason I mourn the loss of my 360.. :(

Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
Ill be getting it, I havnt played Prefect Dark in a long long time, but I remember it kicking ass. I also remember it had an awesome soundtrack.

Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
One of my favourite things was to use the slayer rocket launchers 2nd fire mode, which lets you take control, and have rocket races with my brother.

The friends I played it with weren't too smart. They always chose to play with 1-hit-kills, but they never sprayed with their bullets: they still took time to carefully aim. I just stormed around the corner shooting like a crazyman. Which worked. |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
Farsight battles are great... when you win, cheap when you lose. :-)
I dunno. I have to try out the demo first because I get cautious having N64 games on an HDTV. MY EYES! |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
Quicklook of the game, loooks about how you would expect a 10 year old game. |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
Nope, despite the better framerate and slightly less butt-looking textures, watching that last video still gives me motion-sickness/nausea.
I think I did finish PD back in the day, despite it making me nauseous to play. |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
That is the biggest problem with those Rare games (GoldenEye and Perfect Dark). I'd say about 25% of the time, I don't know what the f is going on. I can only assume that the only reason why I still win is because no one else can tell either.
No where near as good as what is being put out nowadays. |
Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
Or maybe gamer skills have decreased and that's why they dumb down games these days. :D

Re: XBLA: Perfect Dark
It's really interesting though, a lot of people say PD made them nauseous, but it was one of the few FPSs in that time that I had no trouble playing.
Weird. |
