Damnit, I wanted to get SoulSilver as well, and believe that Magus is getting HeartGold.

Think im going to skip out on this one, ill wait for the next brand new Pokemon game.

Tho Gold was really the first pokemon game where i played a ton and made an effort to collect them all.

Apparently some new places to go and stuff. Plus your pogeymans can follow you around like Pikachu in Pogeymans yellow.


Dude whatever g/s was badass.

Especially after you beat the game, and spoilers, got to go through and challenge the first game gyms.

I can't fucking wait to go through the Kanto gyms again. That's the one thing I never ended up doing when I went through G/S and I beat myself up over it a lot when I think about that game.

HeartGold acquired! I got a Geodude in my Pokewalker right now since they suck for grinding. I think the Pokewalker is a pretty cool idea. It's good for lvling and shit while I'm at work.

Also, maybe we could start a Pokejournal like we tried for Diamond and Pearl? Your thoughts, gentlemen.

Do not scoff at these games - Gold and Silver are the two greatest Pokemon games ever. They introduced apricorns, breeding, night/day...and my favorite Pokemon, Ampharos.

I haven't actually gotten very far into the game. My girlfriend bought HeartGold, so I spent the first few hours getting a female of all three starters.

I'm going to actually move forward in the game tonight. I can say that so far I am really impressed with the care and attention they put into these games - everything from how it looks down to the packaging. I feel like they realized fans loved these two games. I bought the walkthrough/pokedex for it, and even that is pretty epic. The first 10 pages or so are "prologue" information about Red/Blue.

Also I have a Jirachi, gamestop had an event that ended yesterday where they were giving them out via mystery gift.

I'm all down for PokeJournals - but I think we should post them all in this thread instead of individual ones so they're easier to read.

Also we need to share codes so that we can trade/battle.

I am down for all of those things. As soon as I get a chance (since I'm at work) we can drop the friend codes down. We should put a list of them in the first post. My friends here at work got copies today so I'll put their friend codes up as well.

Looks like I'm starting with the journals!

PokeJournal 1 - Magus


I started off with Chikorita, and that's been going pretty well. Although this does mean a little more prep before getting to Falkner because of the grass type. To take of this I got a Geodude that I got up to about lvl 10 or so....until I found out that there was someone that would give you an Onix for a Bellsprout, which coincidentally was spawning right outside of Violet City. :D

Onix is insane. I was helping him build up XP by doing the ol' switcheroo and fighting in Sprout Tower. I had a Pidgey to knock out all the Bellsprouts, and Onix was getting boosted XP from being a traded Pokemon so double win!

I got the TM for Flash and I think I'm gonna do a little more grinding/exploring in Dark Cave. Hopefully some cool stuff spawns and I get some nice items.
