Best Mario Powerup
 

I figured with New Super Mario Bros Wii out in a little less than 2 weeks, would try and drum up some talks of everyone's favorite Italian plumber and gaming's great icon. :D



Over the course of his 25 + year career, Mario has donned many types of suits and different power-ups.

His main stays have of course been the Fire Flower and the Star.


The man has also taken to the air, and almost never the same way twice.
He had the racoon/leaf in Mario 3, the magic carpet in Mario 2, the cape in Mario World, the hat with wings in SM 64, limited ability with FLUDD in Sunshine, and two different means in Galaxy with the Bumblebee suit and the actual ability to fly with the purple star.


He has donned the ability of his enemies with the Hammer Bros suit in Mario 3, the Turtle Shell in new SMB. He was able to blend in with the Boos in Super Mario Galaxy.


He has changed his size with a normal, mini and mega Mushroom.

TANOOKI SUIT! I also liked the boot. Sky World is probably my favorite area Super Mario Bros. 3.

My beef with the frog suit was it was a pain in the ass on land, which meant you either had to deal with it or get rid of it when on land, where most other things work on land and underwater.

The "Break-A-Boner" powerup is my favorite.

Tanooki suit actually was number 1 on some top 10 video game armors list I read the other day. Although I feel that list was fucked because Tanooki suit can be lost in a touch, and the other armors could not. Although invincible stone statue is pretty broken.

It's a toss up between Fire Mario and Rabbit Mario.

Hmm, no blue shell from NSMB on the list. I like that one very much.

I had fun with Kuribo (boot) Mario. It was weird, sluggish and terribly dangerous, but fun! :D
