Chapstick (Burts Bees vs. Carmex?)

I live in a place that is cold and shitty 75% of the year so I go through Chapstick like Canadians go through maple syrup or Germans go through sausage or Irish go through potatoes etc.

Anyway, everyone and their lesbian mother has a raging boner for Burt's Bees. For like 30 years of my life (and I'm only 21) I've heard people ragging on about how awesome it is to put beeswax on their lips. So a few years ago I bought some Burt's Bees chapstick to replace my Blistex and "ChapStick" brand lip balm. I was hugely disappointed and felt like I was just raped by trendy advertising. Burt's Bees did little to remedy my extremely chapped lips, and not long after trying it I went back to using my "ChapStick" brand. I mean honestly hooray for consumerism and commercialism.

A year later my friend was like, "dude, check out Carmex that shit is straight dope!" I was like, "do I smoke it?" He was like, "No, it's chapstick you fuckwad." So I was like, "Carmex...it sounds like a rental car company or an air freshener brand."

Anyway, long story short, Carmex is amazing. It protects your lips, it heals cracks, and it feels protective. So that's what I have been using for the past 3 years of my mundane existence.

I doubt I will be giving up my Carmex anytime soon, but what lip balm/chapstick do you all use?

Chapstick Brand chapstick is what I usually have on me, although I'm not too particular on it.

One company that I'm not ashamed of being a fan of after having tried it a few times randomly (although I would never buy it myself), is Soft Lips, particularly the Vanilla one. Now, I'm pretty sure this is a brand that specifically advertises toward the female crowd, but theres no denying that its pleasant for all.

I haven't used chapstick for a while either.

Also, I keep thinking Earl is posting in every post in every thread, as well.

I totally agree, Earl. Nice post.

As for Chapstick, 'tis the season. I seem to only need it for the cold wind season which starts pretty soon around these parts. I usually go with "chapstick" brand as well, but Burt's Bee's has always been good to me.

I once discovered that the more I use chapsticks, the drier my lips get when I don't use them. It's like an addiction.

So maybe my lips don't produce the natural fluids when they get artificial.

I try not to use chapsticks unless I really have to.

Uh I use Blistex medicated lip balm.

BTW fuck Burt's beeswax. Shit sucks balls. We sell it at cracker barrel and everyone is so obsessed with it that women even buy that shit in the store, flip up their skirts and start rubbing the stuff on their clits. So I tried it once because I left the blistex at home, and man that shit sucked. It made my lips all pepperminty and tingly and then I realized that my lips just felt worse after the fact. I gave that shit to the closest bitch and watched her scream and do back flips because I gave her that stuff.

Carmex is good stuff too I just can never find it around here anymore.

I'm usually a Bert's Bee's fan but lately I'm carrying a stick of carmex. I like them both, they're quite effective.

3-5 inches of snow today. Poodoo. This is supposed to be Minnesota, not Canada.

Burt's Bees. It burns a little, and as a man that makes putting on chapstick more acceptable.

Lol. Just eat an orange.

I get really badly chapped lips...like my lip will get a big crack down the middle and bleed badly. It will take a week or two for the big cracks to heal, and I always get little cracks. My experience is similar to TheSlyMoogle, but I guess everyone's lips vary. Unfortunately Burt's Bees just don't do it for my sensitive lips.

The worst is when your lips are really dry, and you yawn or open your mouth to accommodate a sub sandwich (or perhaps other objects for Mr. SlyMoogle), and then you feel your lip crack in half like a fault line of flesh splitting across your mouth. That feeling sucks. And then a week or two of healing...
