Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

*STICKY PLEASE*

So....some big news, won't steal thunder from Bond's Favre thread but how do all you Philly fans feel about Vick in Philly? Is that not the biggest news ever or WHAT?

When he gets TV time, I change the channel. At least until he proves he is genuinely remorseful.

Keep in mind, he spent 6 years fighting, torturing and killing dogs. It's going to take a LOT to make me believe he's not just trying to save his own ass with this "conversion".

Wow, only one post? Really? Is football really that boring?

As for Philly, I think they are in trouble, especially in the offensive line and linebacker areas. Their right tackle has neevr played the position before, ever... not even in training camp and has clinical depression (sigh) and they lost their starting middle linebacker who held that whole from 7 together last year (Stuart Bradley).

Not to mention a huge hole at free safety since Dawkins left. It doesn;t look great, but we'll see.

There's not much to talk about outside of the quarterback movements and comebacks... and comebacks that are movements. :ohreilly:

I'm interested to see how the patriots do this year with Brady back..

I never pay much attention to the NFL until the CFL is nearly over.
So I'll start posting in a couple months.;)

Yeah, I don't like to get caught up too much in the NFL until the games actually start, which fortunately is tomorrow night!

I agree about the Eagles. Before the season on paper I thought they could be a very good team, at least a 1 or 2 seed out of the NFC. Now that the preseason has happened and they've suffered some injuries, I'd be somewhat surprised if they finish 10-6 or 9-7 and get a wild card berth. I just don't have the same confidence in them right now. Sunday will be a decent indication against Carolina.

Packers are going places this year. Believe.

I believe in the Pack this as well. I think Rodgers has a big year. I'd definitely bank on the playoffs for the Pack.

I'll jump on the pro-Pack bandwagon. I think the Bears and the Vikings are incredibly iffy, though they are both going to be serious competition for the Packers. But the Bears have a hard schedule for the first half of the season, so that will help. And I believe Rogers has substantial skill. The Packers got screwed over last year in a bunch of games.

I'm also excited for regular season to start. I love football.

Is Jenkins healthy? He's on my fantasy team...

So the first game of the season is in Pittsburgh, which is where I am right now. My campus was filled with Steelers jerseys as usual. It's a highly defensive game so far, but the Steelers just scored a TD. That was quite a long pass too. It's almost halftime right now.

Cullen Jenkins? He's healthy.

You play with individual defensive players?

Maybe he means Greg Jennings?

Fun first game of the season so far! I'd like to see Pittsburgh go down.

I'd also like to see Pittsburgh go down. It's always fun going to class the next day to see bummed out Steelers fans.

I went to the bar tonight and the Titans/Steelers game was on, and it aroused a question (since I know little - in theis aspect- to the NFL)...since it's a 15 minute OT, despite the unlikelyhood, is a tie possible?
