A simple thread idea, just pose a question, and see what GTers thoughts are on the two options.

I'm thinking the second choice because the first one can be very problematic.. even if it is a terrible loss (not being able to speak sucks.. but I guess you can find other ways of communicating).

That's a hard question, cause I have some fucked up thoughts. It'd be funny on a date.. "Can we have sex now, I really want to. Is there a reason we're bsing and waiting. Well you're worth waiting for.. somewhat.. but I really want to just go to bed."

*when the date is over*

"Damn this was a waste of time"

If I'm allowed to still type and use sign language I'd chose not to speak. But if I couldnt then I'll just have to blurt everything out.

I'd rather say everything on my mind than have my voice silenced. Sure, it would get me in trouble and make it harder to keep secrets, but it still allows me some form of expression that is relatively normal.

Deaf. I want to see people's eyes, they're better than people's voices.

I say both since someone might want to answer a previous one as well as the one before them.

- Never speak, for the reason TheGame gave. You need to be able to censor your inner monologue to function in society. Watch Austin Powers right after he defrosts and starts talking. You could be at a meeting and you're talking over your boss saying "Blah blah blah, shut up already you fat prick. I wanna leave early to catch the start of the game." Turns head to face coworker across the table. "Ooh, Sally you're looking extra nice today. I just want to wrap my tongue around your-" Even if you're a nice decent person your thoughts can jump around to things you don't want people to know you're thinking.

Depends on what your definition is of too hot or too cold. Assuming its bareable (meaning you can survive it, but very uncomfortably), and that the only thing you can adjust for the tempature is adding or removing clothes. I'd go with too cold. I hate sweating..

I have a strange question, if you had the oppertunity to have a second chance at life... would you rather start over from the age of 5 with all of the knowlege that you have now, but never be able to see anyone again who mattered to you in your old life... Or would you just continue living your life as is? (and as a bonus question, if you were to start over, knowing everything you know now... what would you do differently?)

I don't believe this.

I'd rather be able to say everything on my mind but I think everyone else would rather I shut up since I always have a lot on my mind.

-rather be deaf (although with modern medicine being blind is looking to be treatable)

-rather freeze to death than burn alive, otherwise would take hot over cold

-fuck new york. i'd rather live somewhere else in the world.

-would rather eat someone's toe nail clippings, nothing like yummy protein and fiber!

Gross. But I fear toenails more than farts.

Depends on what you mean with too hot / too cold. Both can get you killed. I'm usually a bit too hot. Now I could say that I'd rather be too cold, but I'm already used to being too hot.
So that one. :)
