Greetings from Cushendun, Ireland!

Don't have much time, but I wanted to stop in and say hi to everyone. I#me having a smashing holiday here in the British Isles and everyone except for one drunken Catholic in NI has been wonderful to us.

List of what I've eaten so far:

Haggis w/ Neeps and Tatties (awesome)
Cumberland Sausage (double awesome)
Cullen Skink (awesome)
Scottish Oysters (double awesome)
Scottish Crab Cake (they have no idea how to make a proper crab cake. There was egg in it)
Beef and Ale Pie (awesome)
Fish and Chips at 5 locations (didn't like any of them, too much batter IMO)
Smoked Haddock (awesome)
Full Irish Breakfast (awesome but it's killing me)
Scones (4 kinds, all disappointing. My local bakery makes them better, honestly)
Mince with Carrots and Tatties at a farm (great country fare, taste of the earth)
Pork Pie (nothing like Beef pie. Served cold and is a bit unsettling at first, but I grew to like it)
Prawn and Mayanaise/Salad twice (ok, but Brits use waaayyy too much mayo. Made me feel sick)

Everything I haven't liked I've tried at least twice to give it a fair shake, but I have to say I really like the traditional food here. I suppose it's in my blood.

Pictures and stories to come early next week, and there are a lot of both!

I was under the impression that most crab cake recipes called for the use of eggs...

I'm reading through an omnibus of Irish folk and faery tales. They have a very interesting and rich mythology.

And that's a lot of meat...

Sounds like you're eating a lot and having a good time.

I've been to Dublin (twice) Limerick, and Cork and had a good time there on tour. I can't remember the food too well, but I had some kind of Irish Stew which was delicious. I assume you've put down some Guinness as well. Can't get it any fresher from the tap than there.

Anyway, Ireland is cool. If you're in Dublin, check out a show at Whelan's. We've played there twice. :)

It's actually a 'Full English Breakfast' (The Irish breakfast I had in Ireland was anyway) The Irish just nicked it off of us and changed the name.

Yeah man, you should definately have a pint of guinness or 6 while you are in Ireland. They keep all the nice stuff for themselves and send the left over crap to the rest of the world. I only like Guinness if I am in Ireland.

Not surprised about the drunken catholic, Irelands a great place but there are a lot of weirdo's there.

Glad you are enjoying your holliday, looking forward to your photos when you get back. It's a shame you are not stopping in England.

On that note if any fellow GT'er ever comes to London then give me a shout ;) We'll get drunk, smoke a joint, whatever ;)

They're on my brother's laptop. He's going to post them on-line and then we'll grab them. Probably not until next week, though.

That's okay. I don't mind waiting I was just checking to make sure they're coming. Your trip sounded fun/interesting and that's good enough reason for me to bug you for pictures.
