Mafia Round 4 - Six Million Forms of Communication

Day Five

Victory is sweetest when you've known defeat.

In the words of the Rebel Alliance…

Stranded on Tatooine. Day 48.

This is the forty-eighth day that I have been separated from my Rebel fleet.

My spirits are low, and my rations are even lower.

*C-3PO picks up a plaque that R2-D2 gave to him at the start of the war, it reads:*

“It is always darkest just before the dawn, but the dawn is coming.”

“Ha, what a cruel joke that has become,” says C-3PO.

*A loud bang at the front door is heard.*

“Oh, no! The Stormtroopers have finally found me, I must exit the back door!”

*C-3PO attempts to leave, but is surrounded by Stormtroopers on all sides.*

“This is a misunderstanding, my Galatic friends,” lies C-3PO.

“I am a terrific protocol droid! I fluently speak over…”

*C-3PO is shot dead.*

In the words of the Galactic Empire…

Five years earlier.

*From C-3PO's Journal.*

Admiral Ackbar has been discovered. He was a double agent, working for the Galactic Empire.

As an android, I always found something fishy about him, perhaps it was because he looked like a fish?

Right before the door opened below his feet to be hanged, he was said to have screamed:

"IT'S A TRAP!"

At least, I was correct on the two powerhouses.

Fun game.
Can't wait for next.

OH THANK GOD!

Wow...

And I hit another good normal.

So we have a network of three.

Good work on the votes, everyone.

Re: Mafia Round 4 - Six Million Forms of Communication

Kind of figured BAB was but we had an agreement I wouldn't vote for him unless I was absolutely certain.

What I find weird is the mafia seems to be really good at going after the specials...and I think I might know how...and that bothers me.

I have to go review the voting pattern from the last round.

Re: Mafia Round 4 - Six Million Forms of Communication

Good job, good guys! We almost let that get away. Unfortunately we lost Fyacin, but if play it well we still have the 10-2 advantage, we just have to figure some things out.

Fyacin 06-16-2009 10:40 PM

Re: Mafia Round 4 - Six Million Forms of Communication

I saw that coming actually.
...
Can't say more.
Good luck guys, I think we can win this!

We have 4-5 rounds to vote two more mafia out. So we're going to have to be pretty efficient.

Eh? How is the mafia so good at getting specials? Why did Fyacin see it coming?

I think our dudes trusted the wrong evil dude.

I think this vindicates Jeepnut since he attacked BaB from the beginning.

I also feel like BaB was playing Dylflon a little bit here, and I'm more trusting of him after the last round.

I think we need to look at other people who have been flying under the radar. Angrist suspected BlueFire last time...might want to check out some of his old posts.

Man, I always end up trusting the wrong people.

Though from reading the previous threads I came to my conclusion mostly on my own though the penguin prodded a little.

Hmm, who to trust now.

Whew! That was an exciting round. I'm just glad I was right about BreakaBone. I was sure he was mafia, but I was awfully worried about what would happen if I was wrong.

I really would like to know who seems to have infiltrated the ring of specials. It would seem the mafia's killing of the guardian and the vigilante was not a coincidence.

Now, who to target next? I still have my suspicions about Swan, BlueFire, tornadothrasher, and Nighthawk, but my convictions on any of them are not nearly as strong as they were on BaBs since I never spoke with any of them. We have a lot to consider friends...

Well, this will most likely be my last round.

I'm considering announcing the normal good guys I seered. Granted, they will be targeted after I'm out of the game, but at least the village wouldn't waste time voting for them.

I need a public opinion here.

Why would they be targeted? They can already be targeted, can't they?

And I have something big to announce, but don't know if I should directly point at people. Might be dangerous.

Yeah so trusted the wrong guy... but he was the only one who contacted me and discussed things over with... that's what happens when you keep me out of the loop.

If you have information, you need to share it. Whether you do it publicly or privately is up to you.

He means targeted by the mafia. Once the mafia knows who is in an alliance, they'll shoot those guys down first to remove cohesiveness in the villagers.

That being said, I don't know who to vote for at the moment. I was going to go for Dylflon, but after the last round I don't think so anymore.
