GameTavern - ATTN: GT JAVA CHAT????

Alright, I'm taking some initiative here...

I've suggested to BaB numerous times that GT get a Java-based IRC chat going. Today I expressed interest to Bond. Bond is a pretty busy guy since he basically keeps this place running while Neo plays games in the arcade. Bond said he was willing to get a Java-based IRC chat going, which is cool. But if Bond is anything like me, he has a personal life and he would rather enjoy his summer than make a chat that no one is going to use.

So here's the deal....if there is a GT chat, people need to idle in it. I know BaB spends 24/7 on AIM, Zebra spends a decent amount of time on there, and I spend a decent amount of time on there. That is 3 people who can just keep the chat room "occupied." That's probably not enough to keep a good chat going, and as we found out today...it is easy for a chat to fizzle out.

Does anyone besides me have interest in a GT chat? Would anyone actually use it during the weekends or during nights on weekdays? I know GT had a java chat before, and from what I can recall no one really used it except for GameMaster (surprisingly).

I just want to save Bond the hassle of doing this.

If we don't do a chat we need to bring back the shoutbox though, dammit! >_<
