ATTN: Comic Nerds!

I need help, my friend says the joker said this quote
In my dream the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, a symbol of hope for millions. A simpsimple tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out.

But we don't know where it's from! Can you help me?!

Google suggests the quote came from DC's Identity Crisis series, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_Crisis_(comics)

I can't confirm it though. Probably need our member who dressed up as batman at night and fights crime in his apartment, Earl, to do so.

That wouldn't make sense as the Joker hasn't really played any major role in the Crisises except for the end of Infinite.

From what I gathered, and will do more groundwork when I can get comics it seems like the quote comes from Detective Comics 737.

And we don't like being called Comic Nerds!

I don't even think Joker was in Identity Crisis...at all.

May be wrong

Re: ATTN: Comic Nerds!

I didn't think it was Identity Crisis either since the Joker isn't even listed as a villain, but I found this:

http://rs362.rapidshare.com/files/88...Comics_737.cbr

I skimmed through it and couldn't find the Joker quote. Mind you I just skimmed, I have another paper (different psych class) that has priority over finding Joker quotes.

I will read through it again when I get the chance.

Re: ATTN: Comic Nerds!

Well the comic was a 2-parter so maybe its in Detective Comics 736?
Because the other quote they credited for 737 appears in it.

736 looks like it has Bane in it...

I can't vouch for the credibility or the sequence of these scans though so meh =/

I wonder if the Joker ark was started somewhere else and continued in Detective Comics.
