I say he told his mom, and she scooped it up in a plastic bag and chucked it in the outside garbage.

Can you describe in greater detail it's state of dying?

Was it injured, mortally wounded, unconscious, shallow breathing, etc...

I would have taken it to a wildlife center for care and healing
