Seeing as how Earl tends to post about all the DC stuff I thought I should try and pick up the slack with Marvel. So here goes...

Not a single event as it is an era in the Marvel universe. Taking place right after the recent Secret Invasion story line and dealing with the aftermath.

I'll quickly sum it for anybody who hasn't read it
It is revealed that for the last few years skrulls have been replacing key members of the Marvel universe with doubles so as to prepare for an invasion. When the invasion is revealed it is a full take over. They have complete control and now the heroes did not know who they could trust. So....lots of fighting and traversing the world dealing with invasion. Finished off with a giant battle in Central Park(I believe) where heroes and villains join together to rid the world of the skrull invasion. The battle is ended with Norman Osborn getting the kill shot on the Skrull Queen

So now Norman Osborn is a media darling, his victory shown all over the world. S.H.I.E.L.D. is blamed for not taking proper precautions to deal with invasion and is dismantled. H.A.M.M.E.R. is started with Osborn being put in charge.

This storyline spans almost the entire Marvel universe right now with a few series started and dedicated to this. One of which being Dark Avengers.

I really don't have much interest in this. Pretty put off by event books these days...especially when one just leads into another. The two Marvel books I read are Amazing Spider-man (a few behind) and Hulk. I imagine it will affect Spidey a good deal. Osborne was already doing some nasty stuff with the Thunderbolts in that. As for the Hulk...who knows...has just been mindless fun up to this point.
