okay i am buying a new computer soon cause this on is about to shit it's self and i need some feedback on it i was given this is by breakabone and said you all maybe could help me so give me some feedback

I can't imagine a computer that costs only $250 will hold on for very long before shitting all over itself too.

Can you spend any more?

I guess that's comparable to my PC, which I bought 9 months ago for €600.
I was sure to get an Intel, Athlons are too noisy in my experience.

I guess it's all about how soon you'll have to replace it. It should last for a few years, then you can probably buy another one for $250. I'd say it's a pretty good deal. But you have to realize that you might not be able to play the newestest games on the prettiest settings. :)

welll i wanna spend around 300-400 cause im only 15 but i have christmas and then jan 7th is birthday so im hopeing for at least 400

Do yourself a favor and don't get a computer from Tiger Direct. Most of their stuff is usually refurbished when they're advertised as new. I know people that used to work there.

The best thing that you can do when you want a good computer (especially when you want to game on it) you're better off learning how to build your own.

It's worth it to do some research on that before you start buying parts.

GameMaster is right about the AMD processors though. They're not what they used to be.

Best places to buy computer parts for cheap is ZipZoomFly.com and newegg.com. You can also try frys.com.

Last time I considered a store-made custom PC, but that wasn't cheap enough. I ended up with a Compaq PC, which was €50 cheaper and had Vista (not as if you'd want it).
But I guess putting it together yourself is even cheaper. I personally didn't take the time for that.

my current computer would have cost $1000 more than it did if i let a store put it together...it's crazy how much they charge for such a simple job.

Anyway, as people have already stated:

1. don't go AMD if you have the option
2. build it yourself if you can.

yeah newegg has a canadian store now at newegg.ca

the product selection and the prices aren't as great though.
