Call of Duty: World at War Beta
Well, I got into the beta for this same way as 4 last year and just like four, I seem to suck at this one as well.
Though, this seems like a Call of Duty 4: World War II skin. The whole look of multiplayer hasn't changed. Still has perks. They have just modified some of the skills like their are giant bombs and dogs instead of planes and copters And just like that had a better game. Got to kill some dogs. :) And I got to drive a tank which I think it a little unbalanced as was in it the whole round and no one killed me. |

Re: Call of Duty: World at War Beta
thanks to our penguin friend I got in. The whole thing takes some getting used to. Something feels off about it.
It doesnt look as nice as cod 4 and the weapons dont feel as powerful or real. The maps do not look as polished ad cod 4 either. Its basically a cod 4 clone in a WWII package, however this kinda betrays the experience for me. You can make all your classes and choose the weapons you want just like normal, but I find it hard to believe that an American marine in the pacific would be fighting with german weapons. It just feels weird. Also it seems that you have to earn the scope for your rifle to turn it into a sniper . This can be frustrating because they are slow bolt action and they dont kill in one shot. I had to shoot a guy 3 times with one at close range to kill him. They will probably work better in hardcore mode. Artillery lasts too long and makes you stunned from afar. Dogs... god damn them. They take about half a mag to kill and they jump around. You can knife them but if there is more than 1 you are screwed. They lead they enemy right to you, and they tend to sneak up on you. You can at least hide from a helicopter. Tanks are way to powerful. I hit one twice with a bazooka at the side and then with a sticky nade on the rear and it was still alive. Other than that it was fairly positive. Fun, but not too fun. Im still on the fence weather to buy it now. However im leaning on the "no" side more. |
Re: Call of Duty: World at War Beta
So I was playing tonight and some guy has already found a way to get under the map on 1 level, and he says he knows glitches on the other 2 maps on the beta :(

Re: Call of Duty: World at War Beta
No offense guys, but that's why it's called a beta. It's not like the Halo 2 beta where they just wanted to show the game off and for all intents and purposes what they showed was final.
This is a real beta, they're looking for those glitches and they're planning to fix them before the game is on sale. Beta =/= Demo As for me, I have my code but I haven't played it yet. I'll download it tonight. |

Also the japanese bolt action rifle was very hard to get kills with. However I managed to get 25 kills and get the scope, and its much much better. Im not a fan of having to earn your sniper scope |
