Not exactly my kind of music, but I never bought into The Postal Service and "modern pop divas" (or whatever you'd like to call them) always come off as over-the-top and insincere (imagine my voice changing tones about 1,000 times during 'over-the-top and insincere')...

So I guess Mr. Collins takes the taco...

I like the Postal Service, but I don't really like their version of this song...Phil Collins does the job.

My take:

Phil Collins - He wrote the song, and clearly the best version.

Mariah Carey - A decent cover, she stays fairly true to the original. Not sure how well suited her voice is for this song.

The Postal Service - The song is horrible for the first minute, but it does get better after. Although it's an odd genre change for the song.

It's hard to weigh the Phil Collins version.. is the studio version much different?

Out of those three, I'd say Phil Collins.

I can't stand Postal Service in general.

I've actually loved the Postal Service version of the song for years and years, so that's my pick.

Studio version has a band kicking in halfway. It's a bit better in my opinion.

The Postal Service version is special, but a bit boring. Mariah always annoyes me, also with this cover.
