If you could only pick ONE game to play/buy this year, what would it be?
 

So I'm bored and GameTaven is focused on my gay or maybe not gay friend on the Happy Hour side so I figured I'd ask you folks a question to help pass the time, I asked this to Bab and birdman the other day but whatever...


If you could only buy one game in 2008 which one would you pick and why?
(the game maybe out already or coming out later on in the year)


I thought this would be an interesting question because of the amount of quality games coming out this year, much like last year.



For me, I think it's a no-brainer to some of you who have seen my love for Gears of War displayed over these forums for a little while. So my answer is: Gears of War 2.

Gears of War is the best shooter/game I've ever played period. The multiplayer is addicting as hell and I can't wait for the sequel. From the sound of things so far it is gonna blow the first one out of the water.

I'd say Grand Theft Auto 4.

Just for the fact that if I can only get one game all year, I want it to have a level of re-playability/fucking around in it.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Yeah, the online play could be SO much better, but I still find myself logging on once a day to play some free-for-all with random people.

The online lagging is gone for the most part.

I just bought Crosswords DS and it may very well be the only game I buy this year...It should keep me entertained for the 26 drive I have to do starting Friday.

Hmm.. damnit. It's a toss up between GTA4, We Love Golf, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and MGS4.

Based on replayability, definitely We Love Golf. I am very, very excited for MGS4, but I've never replayed an MGS game (minus MGS2). I purely don't have the desire to replay them. GTA4 I might replay. We Love Golf I'll play over and over and over and over. If I could only play it with friends, then I'd go with Brawl.

Same game.
Same reason.

I mean it was a tough choice and while I think GTA has some rough edges. It has the best balance of actual progression/ dicking around in it for you to go back to from time to time.

And I love the multiplayer aspect.

Probably Metal Gear Solid 4. Nintendo just dosent have any killer apps this year. Even though I porbably wont actually get to play Metal Gear Solid 4 inless I can come up with a PS3 somehow...
