GH3 - Wii or 360?
 

I'm thinking about buying Guitar Hero 3, but I can't decide which system to get it for.

360 has easier multiplayer, DLC and better sound (probably). But for some reason, I'm leaning towards the Wii version. Does the Wii version have DLC? I think the mono sound problems are fixed, but the multiplayer is still friend-code dependent, right?

In order of importance:
1. DLC
2. Multiplayer
3. Sound
4. Whatever (please specify)

Which version would you say has advantages/disadvantages? Keep in mind, I want to buy the Wii version more - but if there are huge differences, I'll go for the 360 version.

I need some opinions on this..

But go with the 360 version. Better sound quality. DLC.

Sounds nice.. I'd never seen that part of GT before, and I love seeing new places :)

OH GOD! DO NOT BUY THE WII VERSION!

I was in the same boat as you when GH3 was coming out. I had both of those consoles but really just wanted to have it more for the Wii. So I ended up getting the Wii version and the Online was horrible, there is no DLC (which sucks for a GH game because you can only play the same packed in songs so many times) and the graphics were pretty bad, and you'd think that wouldn't matter for a game like GH but it bothered the hell out of me and I'm not a graphics whore by any means.

Later on my little brother ended up getting the 360 version and I have to say it's like a million times better... DLC, the sound is amazing, looks sharp, flawless online.

Wii Version doesn't have DLC. :( That's all I know.

Yea, I mean I have the Wii version. You would probably be better off buying the 360 version. The Wii version does not have DLC, but the online multiplayer actually isnt bad. Sure you need friend codes to play with your friends, but its got different modes to play ranked and unranked matches, and its got a leaderboard. And there is usually no lag, suprisingly.

yea my freind got rock band for ps3 and its tight.

and he says rock band wii wont have dlc either!! :mad:

I'm ordering online, so it's not very likely that they'll ship all those instruments here. And I don't even have that many friends who play videogames. And it's not out in Europe yet.

It seems that the 360 version is the better one. Thanks for the input everybody. And thanks for moving the thread into the right place Bond.

The graphics aren't that bad...

But I do kind of wish that the Wii had DLC. Kind of sad that it doesn't, really.

At my university I'm an exec on the videogame club, and we've hosted GH3 on both consoles. Hands down I agree with everyone, the 360 version much better, especially if you take advantage of the DLC and the HD. Also maybe its just me, but I preferred the feel of the xbox 360 guitar over that of the wii (as cool as it is with the wiimote actually IN the guitar and all).
