Dallas DA's Sweet Rig
 

For those of you that don't know, a Texas DA is under indictment for spending public funds to build himself a "back-up server" that had 7 fans, glow in the dark tubes and high end video and audio cards. Peeny Arcade nailed it on the head pointing out the absurdity of this case. Made me laugh for a while.

Is it absurd because he used public funds to build it or is it absurd because of the lengths they have gone to reprimand him for his sinful ways?

I think the reality that this actually happened is absurd, and Penny Arcade's description of the legal conversations taking place must be HILARIOUS because of it.

How do you talk your way out of this?

Tycho's comment that, "It's a crime, yeah, but it's an awesome crime. I make an exception for awesome crimes," is right on. I can't help but want to forgive this guy for wanting that pimped out rig.

Lol, maybe he needs to do some major video or photo editing. I bet he would have gotten away with it if he didn't have the lights.
