It's a sad day to be an American. These guys are really showing the true colors of the US soldiers in our War of Terror...I mean War on Terror.

200,000-something dead Iraqis, and this is how our soldiers are entertaining themselves. This is probably going to wind up on CNN, and then make its way across the world.

If there is one thing I learned from watching Full Metal Jacket, it's that war is hell. And my respect goes out to all the soldiers across the seas. But fuck this shit. I hope the guy in this video, I hope his whole family sees this video. I hope he is humiliated.

Sadly it seems like lots of this is going on in Iraq. This is just one video of many. Apparently blowing up dogs and killing animals is a nice way to kill time.

This war...

I hope our next president can change the image of America.

I think it's a mistake to base your entire view on the "war on terror" off of one soldier's actions.

I don't even want to watch that, but you may remember the video I posted of UN soldiers snipering dogs in ex-Yugoslavia.

It's the wrong kind of guys that are attracted to the army. Some of these people enjoy killing. It is my personal belief that you should NEVER enjoy killing. Even if it's your job. If you like it, get another job.

Agreed. The soldier(s) involved are scum and should be dishonorably discharged and then prosecuted for their crime (or maybe the other way around), but to take that incident and make the assumption that all American soldiers behave this way is the equivalent of citizens spitting on Vietnam vets when they came home because the assumed they all commited war crimes. Don't make that mistake.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to generalize about all of our soldiers. I'm sure the majority of soldiers in Iraq have better intentions than the people who threw the puppy off the cliff. I was just venting like Fox 6 said. I'm just baffled that people are that cruel. I can't imagine what other countries think when they see videos like that. It's truly a scary messed up world out there.

UPDATE:

Well at least it looks like the Marine Corps is following up on this, for whatever that will do. I support any and all attempts to ruin this asshole's life, just as I would any soldier that acts in such a manner towrds animals or humans.

War is Hell and I'm sure makes a person devalue life over time and repeated horrific experiences, but it is not an excuse to abandon one's humanity. In this I think the military can do more to help soldiers deal with their experiences.
