It's time again to celebrate the love of your life...

That's right. Today is February 14th. It's the day that pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training. Baseball season is getting underway!

So everyone, whose your team? How do you expect them to do this year?

My team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Although the owners won't come out and officially say it, we're in a rebuilding year this year so I don't expect a whole lot out of my team. We have a lot of new players so it will be interesting to see how everyone does. I expect us to finish in the middle to the bottom of the National League Central Division and to miss the playoffs. Still, baseball is baseball and in St. Louis, that's all that matters.

The Philadelphia Phillies are my team...

After a 14-year playoff drought the Phils finally got back into the mix last year by winning the NL East after the Mets epic collapse. However, it didn't mean much when they promptly were swept by the Rockies. A couple of weeks ago I would have said that our chances to repeat as division champs would be pretty good but now that the Mets picked up Johann Santana, I'd say they would be the slight favorites with that move. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't make the playoffs with some sketchy pitching, but our lineup should again be the best in the National League and one of the best in the Majors. I think we'll contend for both division and wild card spots, and hopefully get a little further in the playoffs this year if we're lucky enough to get back. I'm looking forward to it and the off season seemed super short!

Milwaukee Brewers all the way.

Blue Jays and the Mariners.
Blue Jays for Canada (and because I liked them growing up when they won the world series) and the Mariners for proximity.

I think both teams, honestly, will do terrible this year.
It seems whenever these specific teams are expected to do good, and go far, they fall flat on their faces. And when they're expected to fall flat on their faces, they don't disappoint.

Worst World Series ever...I cried as a young 8-year-old Phillies fan when Joe Carter hit that homerun. I'll never forget it. Neither will Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams who threw the pitch. Bastard.

Should be an interesting year hopefully. Could be bad or good. Probably somehwere in between.

I was really pissed when I hear Larusa was coming back though, he needs to just retire.

Yeah, I agree. Although I'm not sure he needs to retire. He just needs to be with a team that's in win now mode and has the players to do it. That's where he shines.

Ha, thanks for posting that, Ive never seen the video before. It dosent really change my opinions on him though. I believe he is a good person, he founded the Animal Rescue Foundation, but like I said before, I havent liked him as the Cardinal manager for a long time. He made a mistake, it couldven happened to me or you or anyone probably.

Baseball is the sport I put up with during the football off-season. That said, I watch the White Sox and the Cubs, but I'm a Sox fan. Baseball seems to get less interesting and more craptacular every year. Scandals, the Yankees; what more reasons do you need to not want to watch the MLB?

It's nice to go to the park and watch the game, the atmosphere is still there. When that's gone, I'm retiring baseball.
