Updated: Halo creator Bungie leaves Microsoft.
Quote:
UPDATE: Well, it happened. Bungie is no longer a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft. As of right now, this will not change anything. Microsoft still has the rights to all Halo related properties and the right to first refusal of any new Bungie titles, but it does open the door to possible cross-platform Bungie games. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. |
Re: Halo creator Bungie rumored to be leaving Microsoft.
Bungie should've thought of this before they were bought by Microsoft. They could've signed on as an exclusive developer, and not been outright purchased.

Somehow this thread didn't show up as new, or I overlooked it. :)

Eh. It doesn't seem like anyone cares anyway.

Re: Halo creator Bungie rumored to be leaving Microsoft.
Yeah well what can you say? They were Microsoft's slaves, just making Halo games for them. Kind of like Retro Studios was for Nintendo. I hope both studios get to do something different, since they must be tired of those games now.
And Gekko, they probably received lotsa buncha money which they could spend on the development of Halo. Now they leave with a lot more money than they had, so I think it was a good deal for the both of them. |

In the end I doubt this changes much of anything. |
