PlayStation Home Delayed
Sony’s highly anticipated virtual world PlayStation Home has been delayed into next year.
During a Q&A session following a keynote by Sony Computer Entertainment group CEO Kaz Hirai, he explained why Home has been delayed from sometime this year to spring of next year. “We want this to be a worldwide service,” he said. “…We want to make sure that we have a range of services which can be satisfactory to our users throughout the world… so we decided to delay the service’s launch date… Please be patient in this regard.” The vague response didn’t mention whether or not the delay stemmed from technical difficulties. In other Home-related news, Hirai commented about the business model that Home will be implementing. “…For a long time we’ve had very traditional types of videogames, and [a] business model has been established.” Home, he said, will provide for multiple biz models such as in-game ads, a virtual mall and other components that Sony is still mulling over. “The more I think about it, I think there are a multitude of business chances that can be created not just for ourselves, but our business partners as well.” He confirmed that Sony is also working with a small number non-game companies that Sony hopes will participate in Home. Re: PlayStation Home Delayed
They announced that at TGS I think.
I don't care personally, I'm not really interested in it. |
Re: PlayStation Home Delayed
Sony doesn't seem to like 2007.

Perhaps Sony is finding out the reason why Microsoft didn't pursue something like Home? |
