"Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton was on CNBC this morning talking about the recent PlayStation 3 price cut announcement. The anchor was not lobbing softball questions, by any means -- lots of direct comparisons to Wii's and Xbox 360's numbers, and asking why PlayStation 3 lost dominance. Tretton gets out of the way of most of the questions. There are no easy answers for Sony these days." Source: Wired Surprisingly tough questions from the anchor. |
Re: CNBC Grills Sony's Tretton On PS3 Price Cut
I've actually watched a couple of tough sony interviews, they seem to be hiding behind Ps2's current sucsess, and PSP's sucsess as long as possible.. and really just looking to the future on Ps3.
They also say that Ps3 is expensive, but its buit for hardcore gamers. They say that its more likely that someone who's spent that much on the system is going to be the type of person to buy 5-10 games a year.. and that someone that hardcore probably shouldn't worry about spending a little more upfront. The big thing they're saying though, is the whole 10 year shelf life thing.. somehow I have my doubts about that lol. |
