I got DRIVER for PC

Well, after searching a long while I finally found a copy of the hit game DRIVER (You are the wheelman)

It rocks (I knew that from a cracked version my brother got in Romania)
The only problem is that the music keeps reseting every 10 seconds.

I got that awhile back... it was only 10 bucks :p

I might still have it... I dunno... I loved the PSX version... but it sucked with a keyboard (Maybe I shoulda had a wheel or gamepad or something :p )...

Oh well...

I payed $10 too, and I have a GamePad Pro controller.

No it's like... err... well... a driving game like GTA3, only you can't get out of your car, there is no shooting, it's not as long or fun, etc etc.... but it's still a good game, GTA3 is just so damn good ;)

but anyways... you're like an undercover cop... and you do various jobs for people in like 4 different cities... and basically you're a "driver"... heh heh... like if someone needs a driver for a bank job... or moving a car somewhere else... but you also get the cops chasing you... and I forgot what gets them mad, cuz I'm so used to GTA3, and in Driver there's no shooting (like I said) or running people over (they always get out of the way, and even if you do actually hit them, you just go through them)... I guess speeding and such... and of course, doing certain missions like bank jobs and the like get them after you :p

But it's not like GTA3 where you have like an open world... and you go to a certain place to get a mission... there's a screen where you're like in an apartment or something and you have an answering machine and check your messages... and accept jobs...

Err... well it was a good rent...

But no, it's not like road rash ;)

I've never played it. I've heard mixed reports though.

I remember that game.. I love that game :D

Well you might be right DsH about GTA3 being better, but remember that Driver came years before it, and when it was released it was the only game that you can drive in a full city with working lights and police crew, and the first racing game of it's genera. GTA3 was very much inspired by Driver in giving a freedom in the city and the police chases, but it also improved on it mission mode etc. Driver 2 was an attempt at that but not so succesfull as GTA3 is now.

Actually, a lot of the elements of GTA3 were there in GTA and GTA2. I'd say that a more correct statement would be that GTA3 took a lot of ispiration for it's 3D feel from Driver.

Yeah Driver is a good game, my friend has on the PSX by him. :D I love handbraking and sliding though little spaces to elude the police. :D I can remember it now, the road blocks, the warehouse, crashing through crates. Yeah I was an orginal BAD BOUY. boiek boiek....Den did never want nuthing wit De I.....errrrrr right....good game that Driver. :sneaky::D:p

Err... wouldn't this thread go in the PC forum? Oh well, don't mind me, continue on...:eyes:

quiet mike 04-23-2002 10:21 PM

Well I would have put it there, or the Old Skool forums, but like I said I have a problem with the music restarting, and only here there is enough trafic to ever have a chance of getting some help.
