Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

one of the more funny movies i have seen in a while, not much to say, except that for 85 minutes of documentary/mock-documentary, you can't go wrong. go see it!

running of the jews!

The movie said a lot about america...and culture in general. Borat is too light-hearted to hate, even if he is ignorant, but the final scene really pulled it together. I guess the movie stretched the concept a bit thin by the end, but I was laughing all the way through. It sure was better than the craptacular man of the year...comedy my ass.

I wanted to go, but neither of the theaters in town bothered to get the film - I honestly couldn't believe it. There was even a big section of the Newspaper ripping on our theaters for not getting it in.

I'll probably drive somewhere else to go see it if we don't get it in the next couple weeks.

I loved it. The hotel scene (without spoiling it) is a classic and its been a long time since I've laughed so hard in a theater.

Fox cut the number of theaters the movie would be shown in from 2,000 down to 800... Due to a "lack of awareness"...

As the weekend went, the box office estimates coming in (which are usually very accurate) have Borat pulling in $26 mil... $6 mil more than the number 2 film, Santa Clause 3, which was shown on 4 times as many screens as Borat...

"Lack of awareness", eh? Part of me wonders how many of those cut screens were planned to be in America's "heartland"... *strokes chin*

In a freak accident, I ended up sitting next to an elderly couple who, I feared, didn't know exactly what they were getting into... But they sat the whole way through, laughing away with the rest of the sold out crowd...

A hilarious time for all!

It was a damn good film. I went to a later showing, 9:10, and the theater was sold out. It was a real crowd pleaser. And, for the first time in a long while, I'll probably see a movie twice in theaters.

Great movie. Haven't had a constant, 1.5 hour laugh in a long time. THe wedding sack is a great concept, and should be adopted in North America.

I was so overlyhyped before I saw it I was slightly let down by it overall. I mean yes it was funny, even halarious at times. But I was expecting gut wretching halarity throughout, and that just wasnt the case for me.

One thing that suprised me, only one theatre in my area was showing it, and yes it was sold out for the 7:30 PM showing I went to. But the thing that suprised me was how hard they were checking ID's. I was asked to show my ID when I bought my ticket, and again by a doorman right before I entered the theatre. I saw a girl who was with her boyfriend probably get turned down because she wasnt 17. Anyways ive never really seen that at any other movie before, at least not as serious about it as they were for Borat.
