First acknowledged homosexual in video game history?

Preys heavily on the stereotypes but some people are very flamboyant like that.

Is the game implying that since the character is gay he must flamboyant? Or, is it implying that since he is flamboyant, he might be gay? I think the game made a flamboyant character, and it is stereotypes that make us believe he is gay, rather than the reverse. But I agree, there are plenty of flamboyant homosexuals... I know a couple.

Can you imagine being the voice actor for that role? "You're playing an androgynous goldie-locks who fights with a saxophone. Now sound gay."

Like what is the point of a stupid character like this? To give homosexuals a bad name? I mean, is our playing experience suppose to be that much more enjoyable when a sterotypical gay man is thrown in admist a serious RPG, spouting girlish quips at every oppurtunity? And this isn't the first time FromSoftware has pulled this crap, either.

"That's right sister, I'm telling it like it is, honey!"

haha.

But anyways, why cant there be a gay character who plays a saxophone? I dont see why it's hilarious. If anything, the fact he defeats people with music is the best part.

I suppose you mean the time when he says "Get your hands off him! Toya is mine!" That line does not imply that the two are an item... I feel it is common to the flamboyant stereotype to claim friends as posessions, especially ones they admire.

Look at Snakes on a Plane, for example. There's an extremely flamboyant character on the film... which appears to hit on other guys, but ends up having a girlfriend. Not that the girlfriend guarantees that he's hetero, either.

Anywho, for further verification that "Toya" is not dating "Makoto," Wikipedia cites:

Also, to clarify: I believe Makoto is gay. However, I also feel there's a possibility that the game is leaving just enough pieces of the puzzle out so that it may prey on stereotypes and try making its gamers feel guilty by "revealing" at the end that the character is actually hetero, yet flamboyant.

samus being a girl was the twist of the 80's.... now

MAKE MASTER CHIEF GAY.

that would be the twist of today.

...they don't need to be making a gay character overtly flaming like this, just like they don't need to be making most black characters in games, gangstaz, or all asians, scientists.
