Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.
even tho Microsoft was already sued along with Sony.. But now aparently a new lawsuit has been made by a different company against MS and Nintendo for a whole bunch of copyright infringments on thier controllers....
http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/04/m...for-controlle/ now last time, MS just took the easy way out and settled with that company, while sony faught it and lost... i woudlnt expect much different from MS on this.. I do however think it will be interesting to see how Nintendo handles being accused of it with thier pride of coming up with all thier own ideas. |

Man, what a fly. I hope it gets swatted.
I also love how the Nintendo DS isn't getting controversied over the touch screen. You think someone would sue them over that after bull**** like this, right? |
Re: Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.
yea. i hoped the people who sued that before would lose... but they won, i hope these people lose also. its complete bs to sue about things like this. and you know they're only doing it because they saw the other company won thier suit.
which is why i have loved what apple did... Ipod came out a while ago, and Creative made thier player, which we all know the menu was a complete ripoff of the ipods menu system.. But Creative made a patent for it. So then over the past year, creative finally acted on that patent and sued Apple over it. Funny thing is Apple had seen this coming for quite a while, and had made a patent over something i forget what it was, but when Creative sued apple.. Apple fired right back with thier own lawsuit... then to get even funnier, a couple months later, apple threw another lawsuit at Creative over a secret patent they had up thier sleves. im kinda hoping for something crafty like that from nintendo. hehe |

It would be kind of interesting to see what Nintendo would come up with if the Wii's controller had to be redone.
But yeah this is kind of ridiculous. |
Re: Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.
I patent the ability to type. For its something I own and every computer owner and business must pay me thousands per type. OR I SUE!

Re: Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.
Is it worth taking seriously when the legal threat comes from some shi++y company no one has heard of?
Anything for a little spotlight... |
Re: Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.

Did you guys know that I legally own the rights to eating Dunkaroos?
That's why you don't really see them around as much anymore. |
Re: Nintendo and Microsofts turn to get sued.
Well, Immersion's patents at least existed some time before the Playstation. If you actually read some articles about this one, you will see that the patents in question were mostly filed in 1999. By that time, the N64 and its controller had already existed for several years.
Of course, you never know what's going to happen with these things, but it seems to me that the case is far weaker this time around. I wonder why Sony isn't named anyway... |

i was wondering that it might have something to do with that Sony was already ordered by the court to stop selling or making thoes controllers anymore. maybe sonys case with immersion somehow effected this case. |
