TMNT Return to the Big Screen
After a 14 year absence, last film was in 93 (I hear not a fan of the 3rd movie)
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to the big screen in an all new CGI movie. This movie apparently notes that the first two movies (getting mixed messages on this, I hear the first one only as well) and not the sequel(s) take place. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/tee...tninjaturtles/ |
Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
You have no idea how excited I am. Was worried from looking at stills but in motion this looks quite good. They look like a mix between the original comics and the live action movies.

My friend showed me this earlier today.
We're happy they're keeping it stupid with the whole 'Mikey' thing. |

I believe I still have the making of the second film on tape somewhere as well as their interview with Barbara Walters. Oh, and to make things even better/nostalgic this could be the triumphant return of Vanilla Ice and the Ninja Rap...or not...DVD extra perhaps? EDIT: From Wikipedia: Quote:

Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
I love TMNT, but I really, really hate CGI movies. This will be a mixed bag for me.

Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
how can you hate CGI films? Toy Story, Shrek, Incredibles, Cars... there are lots of great CGI films.
now i cant really name off CGI films that try to look realistic that i like tho. i have hopes for this tho. |

As for the constant onslaught of cookiecutter movies with "all-star casts", they can go shove it. I'll give you a list here: Quote:

Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
i'd say more then half of all movies in general arent worth watching. theres a lot of crap made in every kind of movie.
i'd say your right theres a handfull of good CGI films in that list. but i'd also say theres a handfull of Great ones. and a bunch of mediocer and crap ones. but thats no different then anything else. i know where your coming from when you say the trend. but im not seeing it as a trend.. seems like the same amount of animated movies as theres always been. they're just doing it a different way. In the end, as long as a movie is good i dont care in what way they make it or in what style. just as long as its good. |
Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
when i saw that this thread had been posted, my money was on:
a) that Penguino must've created it b) that the first word in it would be "well" ...1 out of 2 aint too bad ;) |

I don't really see how many of those films could be considered "cookie-cutter" CGI films, mostly noting Toy STory (which was the first) and the Final Fantasy films. While I agree that the trend of pumping out as many CGI movies as studios can (especially ones with cute animals doing cute things)is annoying, I don't see how a movie could be considered bad ot cookie-cutter just because its CGI. /me shrugs and walks away |

Opposed to studios pumping out as many human-oriented movies as they can? |
Re: TMNT Return to the Big Screen
I agree with Dyne to a certain extent. The main companies making similar themed films at the same time...Finding Nemo and Shark Tale, Antz and A Bug's Life. And now Ant Bully. Jerry Seinfeld has a CGI movie coming out called Bee Movie but it's Seinfeld and involves bees suing humans for the use of honey so I'm fine with it. Madagascar and The Wild...can you get more similar? Still not sure about Flushing Away and Ratatouille. And the use of famous actors to plug the movie is the worse. The cast of Shark Tale was sickeningly Hollywood.
Here's some more info on TMNT. Glad about the no name actors. Plus I heard they all record in the same room which is almost never the case so there's some improv too. Quote:
