CHALLENGE #1 Strategies

Hello Cooks!

So, building a shelter... Looks like you were right, Jason, it's all about posting steps in order.

In case you haven't seen it, here is our Challenge #1 thread http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15565

I think the main problem for this challenge is like GameMaster said before, keeping good communication. We need to know exactly when a step was posted, and we need to know exactly who is posting each step beforehand.

This seems pretty easy to me. All we need to do is figure out how many of us will be there on Sunday, then split up the steps accordingly. Then for each step we've been assigned, we should have an internet window open with the post and ready to click Submit and an AIM or MSN message window open and ready to message the next person in line when your step has been posted.

So for example,

Say there are six people who can make it to the challenge, and say you're responsible for Step 6 and Step 12. Say Bube has the steps before you (5 & 11) and Raged has the steps after you (7 & 13). Note that Raged would in this case also have Step 1.

All you need are two internet windows and two message windows. One internet window is the Step 6 post and the other is the Step 12 post, and one message window would be to Raged with something like "Step 6 finished; Step 7 Go go go" and the other would be "Step 12 finished; Step 13 go go go", also to Raged.

So with all of those ready, you would just wait to get a message from Bube saying Step 5 is finished. Then once you get that message, you would just click Submit on your step 6 post, wait to see if it actually posts, then click send on your "step6 finished/step7 go" message to Raged. Then just wait again for a message from Bube. As soon as you get the second message from Bube saying Step 11 is finished, you would again click Submit on your Step 12 post, then click send on your second message to Raged.

Make sense?

I think the only difficulty is making sure we all know exactly who has which steps, so we know who to send the messages to and who to expect messages from.

I agree for the most part. Although instead of individually messaging the next person in line, why not instead use AIM and just set up a chat room and everyone who is playing will join it. That way we can all say in the chat room when we get our steps posted. Just makes a little more sense to me. I should be there Sunday night for sure, so count me in.

It's 8 pm CST, 9 EST.

Is this going to be planned, or should we meet a randomly at the time? It'll be 4 am at the time for me, and even though I'll get up, my school's internet sometimes has big problems. If I said I was coming, but couldn't make it, would somebody on our team be able to fill my place?

Yea, I mean this really shouldnt be too difficult...everyone just post their AIM names in that other thread, and I'll make up the chat room 15 minutes or so before it starts and just invite everyone in and we can talk about it then. So if your going to be available, just be on AIM before it starts tomorrow. That should work.
