Traveling the world, where would you go?

Traveling the world is becoming increasingly popular, from students traveling in gap years to professional's taking six months break from their careers to travel. I'd like to see pretty much most of the world, but what particalarly interests you guys.

Where do you want to travel the most?

Many parts of asia interest me, Japan, China, Tibet. I'd also like to see parts of south america, Mexico, Brazil.

Any particular sites or landmarks you want to see?

I'd love to walk the wall of china.

If you were to travel the world, where would you go?

Backpacking across europe appeals to me because i'd still be in my own continent, and as an EU citizen its legally easier to get work (at least i think it is). My mum lives in france, so if i need to stop on my travels, i can go there for free.

Well I'm going to Europe in a month and a half or so, so I'm basically set.

I'm initially going to England with my cousin, then I'm travelling Italy alone, and then staying with my sister for a few months in Germany.

I dont want to see landmarks. I want to see the people, and the life and whatnot. Landmarks are too tourist-y.

I would want to visit Italy the most. I've been trying to plan a trip to go out there, but I'll just have to wait a few years. I'd also enjoy seeing Switzerland and Austria. I want to go to CERN if it's possible.

I would love to go to Poland, and visit Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Another place I would probably like to visit would be The Netherlands or Germany, because I would just like to what exactly people do there in their spare time, would be a cool thing to see.

I want to go to Japan and pick up a million cheap video game things at Akihabara. I'd spend three days straight there.

Then I'd probably consider going to Scotland and seeing the Castles.

Then I'd go to the Scandinavias and view the local boobs... I mean.. attractions. :sneaky: No, seriously, my dad went to Norway when he was ten, and he said the boobs there are fantastic. Somehow, I got the Pig gene from my father and I need to confirm this with my own eyes.

I've already gotten to go to England, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany because of the Spinto Band and this summer I get to go to Sweden some more, Belgium some more, Netherlands some more, England some more, Spain, and best of all, Japan. I'm a lucky bastard, but hey, thank God for summer music festivals, nothing beats them.

I understand what your saying, tourism after all is a big industry, and tourist areas present an image they want to sell to you, which dosen't necessarily represent a true image of the place or country your visiting. Whatever that true image is?

Historical grand landmarks interest me, like i mentioned the wall of china and other things like the pyramids and easter island.

When I imagine you travelling the Earth, I envision you doing so to the theme of Fraggle Rock.

OMG!! You have just completely altered my perception of travelling, i see myself walking great distances with a hop and a skip. As i pass through different lands many people become enchanted by the fraggle rock tune, until thousands of people form a line behind me, all skipping along with big smiles :D

Come on GT, lets march and take Fraggle rock to the world!
