I actually heard a promising rumor about this: Apparently the recently appointed defense minster is a Suni. The rumor is that the heads of the Suni resistance came to terms with the Shiites and agreed to provide information about Zarqawi is exchange forhigher placements in the new Iraqi government.

On the off-chance that this is true, it would be a devastating blow to Al Qaeda (still have no idea how to spell it).

Not exactly breaking news, as I saw this on the TV last night around 2~3 ish.

But hey, at least it makes for humdrum conversation.

Why do we need to see the photo of his dead face? Poor choice, CNN, poor choice.

Because americans want to...as odd as that sounds. "Show us the dead body!"

It'll be the same thing if we ever catch bin laden. People will demand to see the corpse of the guy that messed with people's lives.

Is it just me, or can a few of you really not care less?

Sure he's dead. He's the number whatever guy in charge. But the person below him will step up. And below him, and him, and it wont really end.


Sure, you killed someone. Terrorism wont stop. If anything they'll strike back with something in the whole "Sure you killed one of us, but we're proving we wont stop" sort of things.
