I just don't see the large technological advantage that the PS3 was supposed to have over the Xbox 360.

They did say in the past we'll eventually hit a point where graphics can only go so far. See: The current fad of adding 10 gallons of crisco to everything in games. It makes it look 'ooo aaa' but it looks like crap.

Granted, graphics do have a ways to go in terms of being completely realistic and hard to tell whether its real or fake but we're getting close to that threshold I think.

But who knows. Sony's is first gen games, MS is second gen waves or hwoever its said. So give it time and Sony will probably get better looking things then the 360.

Though I think Sony will bank more on the "We can do more on the screen at once" at first.

Well, Gears of War ran pretty crappily at E3, like 20FPS, so they have some work to do. MGS4 ran sizeably better, save for a few hiccups. Either way, both good looking games.
