GameStop confirms PS3 Pre-order date
 

Well I went to GameStop today to preorder SUIKODEN V and I asked him when the PlayStation 3 preorders would go into effect. He told me March 1st.... which is very reasonable considering it's position in the season. The manager also confirmed the guys statement ( i needed that closure ). The manager old and mature and I have no reason to think he is lying... considering he has access to this information.

So now.. all I need to do is pre-order a pre-order for March 1st... ...make sense? LOL well.. I'm going to pre-order.... the chance to pre-order on March 1st...

It's not possible but it shows you how excited I am about the PS3...

I'll go to a few Gamestop and EB's and put down Pre-orders if its true since I get paid right around march 1st (and tax refund is coming in the next 1-8 days) and profit away on ebay.

me too, i'll buy some and sell on ebay. I heard 1 guy made like, $800 bucks with xbox 360.

i dont have the capital to buy more than 2-3 systems so I cant really even entertain that idea

im hoping the PS3 doesnt have TOO many killer titles this year....I dont know if I'll be able to afford one :(

I'll check when I get to work today (Gamestop). I assume we will have just gotten a memo from corporate and it'll be waiting on our email system. I had the weekend off so I'm honestly not sure.

However, Gamestop has stated time and time again that we won't take preorders until we have an MSRP and estimated release date - especially for systems. So unless Sony plans on announcing both the release date and MSRP on March 1st - preorders are not going to happen.

For that reason I find it unlikely the guy you talked to knows anything. Sony might be planning to release the information - but there's no reason to tell us about it until the day of the press release.

not when you're a full time student from now STRAIGHT THROUGH until May 07 (when ill get a 4 month break)

I dont have time to make money, Im slowly dripping money out of my savings as it is...

well obviously, but i was reading in PSM the other day and it said late 2006, just had wondered if they had set a permanent date.

Nah. Checked all the emails at work today and even got ahold of my Regional Manager. We've got no date, no price, and won't be offering pre-orders until we have both.
